EF_wanabe wrote: Looks nice the only problem is its a EA if only it were like a EB2 that would be awesome but we cant all be that lucky in life So how rare was the rear box mount ? Eb2 comes with smartlock & all it's associated issues, you know smartlock is getting old now, having a few aging issues lol. Suspension wise, some bushes in the rear end are wider in the eb2 (better handling - slightly), tho I have 2 Eb series 1 car's that run the wider bushes, both are Xr8 models tho. These days the EA is the less common of the early Eseries, and those that are left are mostly good car's, not like the early car's with issues, most of which have been recycled by now. I don't mind EA. Really, what's the major changes on the outside? It has a EB front end and mirrors on it anyway. So it's just the tail lights and garnish.

manual conversion on the EA is all done. As the pedal box, loom and ECU come out of a factory manual EA Ghia, the cruise all works properly and cancels when the clutch it pressed. Gotta say i'm very happy, and s**t I love manual E series

EA did it's first long trip over the weekend. Went to Horsham and back. 450kms round trip. Did it without a hassle.
But the big test will be tomorrow, going to Sydney in it. 4 people and a empty tandem on the way up. 5 and a tandem carrying a Chrysler Centura on the way back. I've pretty much thrown any part at it that I think could cause an issue.

Well, had my first major issue with the daily tonight. My older brother got a house out of town. Decided to drop a skid in the EA, rev rev, dump the clutch, it axle tramps like a prick and BANG, ZZZZZZZZZ. I'm like oh s**t, I just blew up the T5. Drove off, got gears fine, but I noticed the shifter was on a mad angle. So I popped the bonnet and saw this.
I broke both engine mounts at once, and the ZZZZ noise was the fan hitting the shroud and slowing down. So I drove it home with the motor on the piss and the fan not moving, but with airflow through the radiator while driving she was okay. So a few mounts are on the cards for this week.
