Well got the head back from machine shop today and started assembling manifolds to it when i noticed the snapped bolt is still in one of the exhaust bolt holes - DAMN - i forgot to tell machine shop to remove it (my fault)
So i will have to get exhaust shop to fix this whilst they are doing the exhaust Heads ready to be bolted onto car now, just waiting for flatmate to get back to hold tension on the timing chain whilst i lower the head on (we didn't loosen the chain we just kept it tensioned up for ease) So head will be bolted on tonight along with reinstallation of cam and rocker gear then i'll probably leave the rest till tomorrow morning and hopefully have at exhaust shop either tomorrow afternoon or first thing Saturday Still haven't touched the trans, i may get this done at mates workshop as i'm running outta time as i need to pull suspension out tomorrow as well as have guy coming to buy the Koni's on Saturday Plus i really need to go down coast and visit the family, they'd never forgive me if i didn't pop around and see them whilst over here lol

IT'S ALIVE!!!!
Well she's all back together now and fired up first go, love it when a plan works Idles perfectly now no miss at all, well i only had running for about 10 seconds as it was 10:30pm and she was firing straight out the new pacies, i think the whole neighbourhood heard it lol Getting it towed down to exhaust shop in morning to have the 2.5" exhaust fitted and then i'll start pulling out the suspension and replacing with the new stuff sitting here All i can say is thank god the motors done, a 6'6 guy leaning down into engine bay is just a recipe for a sore back and i can tell you i got one lmao My new headlights turned up this morning but haven't even had time to unpack them yet, i will probably fit these up after the car gets detailed

Yeah, i'll grab my flatmates camera when he gets home and take some new pics
Bought new stainless exhaust tip to put on exhaust whilst at it Suits Fairlane perfectly if you ask me, twin 2 1/4" round tips with rolled edge and on an angle backwards to match the contour of the rear bar Hard to explain but instead of 2 tips being same length, ones shorter than other so sits perfectly in line with rear bar Pics will help here i know, will be up later I love the sound of exhaust to, not too loud and definately not tinny Sounds perfect for a Fairlane Now gotta go wash the thing again as grease prints all over it now hehe

You mean it suits the curve close to the corner of the car. Any chance of a vid so we can hear the exhaust? Cheers |
