So the Harmonic Balancer is starting to let go, no real issue. Ni issue paying for the part, no issues understanding how to fit the part, BIG issue when it comes to Repco actually failing to provide a balancer for a V8. I gave them the powerbond part number they confirmed they had it in stock, asked them to pull it with a few other items, box it up and I will swing through and collect it, just put it on account.

So I get to work with my box of toys, open it up.. Sweet, a balancer, awesome its powerbond, Repco you bunch of duds, its for a 4.0! 3 weeks ago, this part would have been of use to me.

Call em up, ask them to come and exchange it, nope, out of their delivery area, ask if local store has it an they can deliver, yes, they can deliver, awesome!

BUT they have nil stock! FFS

Why do the simple things like this always have to get so damn complex.

I finish at 5pm, they shut at 5pm and refuse to stay back 20 mins so they can have the opportunity to fix their mistake. No.

I need it today as I am going up the central coast tomorrow, i guess this is a FML moment.

yeah they did, but they wanted the exchange to go back to the store of purchase as its on account. if it was an outright cash sale, I would think I could go where ever to exchange it, Biggest issue I had is, need it today, I finish @ five they close @ five and resused to budge. I explained this was their opportunity to fix up their fuxk up, didn't work too well, just erupted the whole scenario.

Some good feedback could be given to repco, but its not like it would make a lick or difference.

lol why didnt you just send her to exchange for the right part in the first place, instead of trying to convince them to work past 5pm, arguments etc.

ive got a brand new nuline balancer here that i couldve sold you for alot less than repco, but the urgency factor makes it not possible

give them a snickers bar to feed the brain and zitts,then invite them to go fishing---sharks,sucks when a simple thing becomes apita.

Because for the wife to do it ment that after she drops one child at Respite for the day, the then needs to do about 2 hours wourth of round trip driving chewing into her day to fix a problem that never had anything to do with her in the first place,

So now on top of the initial purchase price I need to involve a 3rd party, burn more fuel and the company that made the mistake does not have to lilft a finger to rectify a problem that could have been avoided in the first place had they have pulled the stock correctly with the part numbers that I gave them.

So to answer your question, why should a company get away with making a mistake, saying opps then get off scott free from having to resolve an issue that would have been avoided if their staff had actually done the job correctly in the first place.

Reason I did not double check the item on collection is it was contained in a larger box with other items, taped up and strapped. There were 4 items in the box in total, 3 of those 4 items were incorrect, either totally unusable for the intended application or substituted with generic items while still charging me the non generic pricing.

They have a delivery service that is actually avalible to do the delivery this afternoon, however they have refused to as my work is 2km outside of the area they deliver to. I am working solo today in a retail enviroment and do not have the flexability to simply shut up and leave to get bits.

Its a problem that never should have happened with a resolution that has completly messed up my wifes day off.

All in the car now. Took 1/2 hour taking my time after work today. I forgot how easy the 8's are to work on. Having played in the I6 world for a few years.

I was looking at drive train for a vibration, Joe from CMS diagnoed a HB in about 2 seconds. So a big thanks to him.

New balancer and the car is silky smooth through the range.

Now to start on sorting out these bushes..

damn thats a good price, considering my local repco are specialists at charging double on everything

was the vibration just at idle, or was it noticable all throygh the revs?

i bought a new balancer for my car, because there was a slight wobble visible to the eye, but i havnt bothered fitting it because the car runs pretty smooth albeit a slightly lumpy idle

same symptoms you have.Mine may have further gone than yous though, on throttle back off I could feel it too.
