A little update. The exhaust was finished 2 weeks ago, and she went in for a tune, as a result of the exhaust upgrade she was real lean, so time was spent fattening it back up, then all of a sudden she didnt want to play. Had developed a miss. EMS was sent away to check it was ok, and it passed that test. Then it seemed i had burnt another set of leads, so swapped them for some known good ones and the problem still existed. Then it seemed the MSD coils had failed. Basically 2 cylinders were not getting spark, and the 2 above that were getting twice as much spark. Swapped the MSD for AU coils and still no joy. Tested continuity tfrom the coils to the ECU and all was ok, Starting to look like the ignitor had died. So another trip to EMS and a new ignitor was purchased. Problem solved, now hopefully Joe will get time tomorrow to finish the tune. I will advise
Brett

OK, it is with great regret that the 5.0 in the Terrorist will be retired from active racing duties. The most recent round of mods did not return the desired output and after a compression test it has been deemed the old 5.0 is very tired. Compression ranged form 125 to 140 max. I will not be pouring any further funds into this engine and will just enjoy it as an angry street car. I could rebuild the bottom end, but that would defeat the original plan for the 5.0 wich was to go as far as possible on a stock bottom end, and would draw funds away from the "other motor".Stay tuned for further updates as work will now commence on the 427.
Cheers
Brett

Ok,
well Paint is well and truly under way on the Terrorist, So i need some advice on how to remove the black surround for the rear quarter glass.
I have 4 fresh doors and have stripped them of everything except the quarter glass. The plans is to paint them, then clear them then reinstall using the internals from the Terrorists current doors.
For those who saw it recently at WSID, you will appreciate why i am doin what i am doing
Cheers in advance
Brett

Don't know about yours, but mine just has a couple of screws to remove and off she comes. Hopefully somebody with an EF/EL can confirm they are the same/different! I pulled mine off a while ago to paint them and off memory, there were 2 screws in the rear door jam and another couple behind the C pillar cover.

Hey Brett

Kudos to you for having a go mate.

You will only learn by trying and making some mistakes.

I look forward to seeing you get it done to a standard you are happy with.

Cheers
BenJ

Didnt crash ot burn it, just some parts i have had for a while and decided now is the time to get them ready for install. I think i have almost enought bits to build another Ghia here, and they have ended up in the Red ED.
I did have a go at painting, but had some issues with the clear coat, so have stripped the rear half of the car and the roof. Didnt strip the doors as i will be using the New Old Stock doors i have. That just then leaves the front gaurds and redoing of the bonnet. Thats where it stands now. I will give you a call on Thursday Troy, to see if you are available for clear application.
Brett
