It is a rebuildable 351 roller short, no sump/pickup. No front end dress and no top end dress. 1200 was the outlay.

OK, been a while, but progess none the less. The 351 roller has turned up, been stripped and is off to an engine shop for a light hone, linish of the factory crank and an acid bath.

My wishlist for bits is now complete and the order will be placed with Summit later this week.

Fortunately the block was in very good condition and requires a hine only. BUT i need new pistons and rods. They will be ordered in stock size and stock rings and bearings which is a bonus as i dont need any machine work.

Question for you all.

I need a 28oz external balance 157t flexplate to suit the BTR. I have one for a C4 but it doesnt seem to line up to the converter, so DO I

A) get a 50oz one and have it rebalenced to suit ( my stock 5.0 one which suits the BTR) or
B) get the 28oz redrilled to suit the BTR.

Suggestions or advice greatly appreciated.

Brett

Thinking of it I actually reckon go with option A dude.
They are going to need the flexplate and balancer when they balance the motor anyway to do the job properly so get them to change the counter weight then.

Go Plan A Brett, reasons being that you already have the Flexplate for the 5.0 and getting it rebalance should not be a problem and if you use the C4 plate and get it redrilled you will probably find that they will need to rebalance it after the work anyway. And as Matt stated, get the engine builder to do it as they will need the plate when thay balance the engine.

PS, your front bar is almost complete, where do you want it delivered?

Thats nice of you Brett. Even organising to have the bar painted and you will even pick it up for me. Deadset champ. I will have to get you the colour code for the gunmetal grey.
Do you want to drop the completed bar at my place or shall I come down to yours to pick it up?
Would it be rude to ask for a hand fitting it............
