Also u can get away with 200cpsi cats with standard cam and a talented tuner as the emmisions on ur car are not very hard to achieve.

The engineering WILL be a bit of a f**k and stressful time and not overly cheap.
BUT the first time you cruise knowing you are 100% legit , you dont have to keep looking over your shoulder for the law and if the worse happens your insurance is actually worth something , the cost and hassles quickly get forgotten.
That information you have supplied Mickeyyy is actually very good and helpful.
Engineering is not the big , bad scary monster people make it out to be. You just have to be preparred to think and make concessions and ultimately you will come out with an off chops car that is 100% legit.
Work the rules right and they can be pushed a loooong way as I gather you have worked out after you little chat today.

Also what is so good about the engineer in question is that if he gives it the nod, the RTA will never second question the car & is highly unlikly to ever have random auddit & rego cancelled like has happened due to dodgy engineers in the past.
He is one of the best.

You probably could Mickyyyy, but i am not using a standard cam, and i have a set of MASSIVE heads, as well as a huge manifold and TB so a pair of Euro 4 cats will be used. The 8860 will be used for emmissions testing and tuning. I will have the car initially tuned for the set for WOT and power, then Hitman will clean it up for emmission testing. I spoke to Hitman, and he feels that we should just sneak over the line.

Hit an knows what he is doing so he can tell u from first dyno pull if he can get it to pass and if not standard cam back in and tune again and ur set.

The cam will not be changed. The tune can be made to suit. Thats the bonus of aftermarket ECU's.
As for the "zero" cats. that wont happen either as once it has passed, she will stay that way. The ECU will be locked, and to be honest, i have no issue with that.

Why go through all these hoops, only to change it later and make the vehicle illeagal. I am paying a large amount of cash to have a 100% legit car, so i will keep it that way.

when you say the ecu will be locked, does that mean you cant retune down the track if something changes?
