Thanks Ben.

What i need to know is it a 164T flywheel, or a 157 tooth, and where would one obtain said flywheel from.

It will need to be balanced to the same specs and the flex plate, but thats neither here nor there.

Brett

Don't forget to add

Spigot Bearing
Clevis Pin and split pin - (connects cable to clutch pedal)
Rubber dampener - (connects cable to clutch fork)
Clutch Fork and retainer plate and bolt

As for the flywheel, on the suits a V8 Windsor would be good hehe

Cheers

except, the v8 dont have the rubber dampener on the clutch fork..

Just get a brand new Yella Terra one and have it balanced to suit the 351.

I think the late model V8's all use the larger cleveland size, so 164T it would be. Yella Terra make a good range of explosion-proof flywheels, YT9902 is about $300, weighs 12kg. Or a YT9902L weighs 10.8kg, around the same price.
They also list a 5.0 ford, 157 teeth, YT9909 @ 10.5kg, or YT9909L @ 8.5kg. Same approx cost.
Yours being a 351W, I'm not sure what they used. If you are using the falcon bellhousing, etc, then maybe you need to use the 157T piece.
A good machine shop can mirror balance it if required, but they will b=need the clutch as well.
Hope this helps. (I think I just confused myself more). 8-)

Yep need to get the 5.0 flywheel so it works with the 3 bolt starter and fits the bellhousing.
You know who to talk to to see what can be done about the clutch and flywheel.................you have his number I believe.

I'm pretty certain it's the 157t flywheel that's needed Brett!

You cannot use a 5.0 flywheel on your 351.
The 5.0 runs a 50oz imbalance, whereas the 351's run a 28oz.
Yella Terra do make a 28oz imbalance flywheel in 157 tooth to suit.
So yes, as said, they are DEFINATELY 157 tooth flywheels in E-series V8's.

I believe he was going to have the flywheel rebalanced to suit as he did with the flex plate , but if YT make a correct imbalance flywheel all the better.

Yeah thats right, no need, if his Harmonic balancer is a 28oz item, then the fywheel will go straight on.

Thanks guys, that covers the next step. I need to contact Yella terra and order a 28oz 157t flywheel. Will still need to have the balance checked against the flex plate, as the whole rotating assembly was balanced prior to assembly.

Brett

would the cash your outlaying on this T5 be better put towards a T56 or TR6060? which would then be able to handle the 427 later?

im sure there is a reason for going down the path of a T5?
