Time for a little update, that has significant implications for the dyno day this weekend.

Several rules need to be adheared to whilst fixing a distributor.

Rule no1, if the metal makes a solid metalic bang when inserting the cotter pin for the gear, stop.
The pin doesnt fit and needs either a bigger hole or a smaller pin. So drill the shaft to fit, do not keep hitting the cotter pin.,

As a result of not taking my own advice, the Dizzy is back with the builder getting a new shaft. Heres hoping it is done in time for a refit this afternoon.

This was only noticed once it was fired up yesterday, and the top of the dizzy was moving about 15mm front to back and left to right. Not cool.

So unless you are an expert, leave this kind of stuff to the experts.

Oh, and dont let me have access to a hammer when working on a car.

I shouldn't laugh, but you make it sound like you went to the Homer Simpson School of Engineering.

Good luck hitting the deadline though, I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to hearing this thing at full noise

Well for the last couple of years you have worn the brunt of our jokes about you and the blue car , taken them in your stride and kept pushing on past the point where most of us would of either stripped it and got rid of it or left it at the tip on one of its trailer trips.
To see it run today and drive and the look of achievement on your face actually warmed my cold , black heart. You did seriously look like a kid on Christmas day and I must say I am proud and happy for you.
A big congrats and well done is sent your way and is well deserved.
It sounds f**k tough!!
The biggest hurdles are now overcome but dont rest on your laurels yet. The few last bits will make it or break it. You have come too far to rest now.
All I can think of with your fuel is a cane toad.
So therefore I figured this picture was fitting Mr Toad!

P.S Just because I actually said something nice and positive for a change to you doesnt mean I am going to stop giving you s**t about your wiring skills!!!!!! :P

Alright.
The Dyno day has been run and won, for those who were chasing numbers.

Here is a video of the Terrotist in all its naked glory. Big thanks to Troyman for taking the video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ep956TysjDA

For interest it made 203rwkw, and showed that the auto is either slipping, or going into limp mode. This may seem a little doy, but there are still some issues to sort. For a start the injectors need to be replaced with 19's so that the dizzy can be set in diagnostic mode, then the real tuning can begin. I also need to source a new set of plugs. ANy one have any idea what plugs fit a set of Twisted Wedge 225 Trickflows?

What impressed me the most is that with the SCT stuff, it is turn the key and go, no throttle needed. SHe hasnt done that in years.

With rego due at the end of the month, will look at finishing the 5 speed conversion in early July.

Cheers and thanks for reading.
