No probs Chris, Thanks.
Also, for those interested, it passed emmissions with flying colours. Results as follows, all measurements are in g/KM THC 0.44 NOx 0.78 CO 0.0 CO2 391.8 Very happy with that, fully complies with ADR 37, bonus cause its a pre Jan 97 and 37a doesnt apply or it would have failed. Cheers Brett

Its actually tuned for everyday powah, its also an acceptable tune to pass emisions.
Should be good. Brett, you will have to take me for a spin when its all sorted and ready to go.

Its great to see it passed and even better to see in a lot of ways how easy it was considering the intake , heads , cam etc.
Yep to have something that passes and is 100% emissions legit on the tune it runs everyday is awesome. I was lucky enough to be taken for a short run in it today and I have to say I was most impressed. After I have made the calls of it was going to be a 5.8 litre rotary with a powerband of between 5000 and 7000 RPM I must eat my words. It honks along real well. We managed to get into second gear once on our trip and we were keeping up with the traffic very easily. Job well done bloke.

It was tuned by Joe at Crescent. Yes the tester knew it was tuned for E85 only. He also knew that it had Euro 3 compliant cats.
So after all this i spent an hour with the certifying engineer and discussed where i need to go from here. Next job is to ensure it is noise emmisions legal. Then a weigh bridge ticket. Then an abridged breaking test. This requires a fair amount of research in relation to swept volume of the calipers, and capacity of the brake booster. The car then needs to be taken to Goulburn airstrip for the test. It has to be conducted there due to the flat area and the need for a 120km/h stopping test. This test is not cheap, but will ensure that my current brake system is up to date. Even if i was to swap them out for a certified kit, they would still need this test. Once all that is complete, the enginner will certify the engine change as legit. As for racing this week, no that will not be happening until next week due to work commitments. Thanks for the questions and feedback, and i hope i have helped anyone else going down this route. Cheers Brett

Well done on passing (E85 + J3-type tune FTW), and interesting that a '97-'02 EL-AU with the same engine combo wouldn't have.

So what's the point of an ADR certified kit then? (not that it affects me, as you know my kit is in the race car)

Comes down to the RTA moving the goal posts. They also conduct the tests, so the "fee" goes to them.
The RTA are out of control, in fact the current code of practice will be phased out come 30 september 2011, BUT the engineer community has not been advised of what the new code will be. For me, this means enginnering needs to happen before then, and for that to happen, i need a stock set of V8 front brakes for the inspection. Brett
