Kind of my fault Dave. I had to change class at the last minute and while Brett was helping we kind of ran out of time to get more appropriate tyres (we also underestimated the freedoms allowed in the road registered class, they're far more liberal than we anticipated).
I'm actually looking at getting some Federal RSRs, for all the same reasons that you like the KU36, plus the fact that the RSR is on the CAMS approved production tyre list, so I can also use them in sprints on either the silver or red car (when it's done). I've never used either, but some Google investigation says the RSR works better from stone cold too (which the fronts are for almost all of the run) because they're a bit softer (140 vs 180 treadwear I believe).

Front grip is certainly the biggest problem, there's just no way to get any heat in them for a single run.

Some events they have two lap runs, the second lap is always much quicker than the first.

Its purely on the treadwear that I would go for the KU36's over the RSR's. 140 is just getting too soft to use on the road, but you could easily commute on KU36's. And for what its worth, the KU36's are a fair whack cheaper too, so you could afford to burn them down a bit quicker. I am looking at Nitto Invo's for the TE and probably Nitto NT05's for the track car, again simply $$.

But if I had the coin, yeah the RSR's over the Kuhmos if they didn't have to be roaded. The Kuhmos will stand up to being roaded and tracked so compromise on both parts but still a damn good tyre, and a LONG way from a blue streak.

I think it was MRE-50L who gave the question to this question.

What do you listen to in the car while you drive? -Blue Streak, Scream!

The dude in the VX had A050 on all four, and changed them back to his standard wheels with regular street tyres before driving home. Compared to that, the RSRs looks very cheap and very hard, and the KU36 look like Bob Jane All Rounders.
RSR can still be roaded. Blue car isn't a daily and may get trailered to some events (unless Mando finds some E85 in these country towns we'll be going to). And I have several sets of 15s to use on the silver car for commuting.

If your getting a 2nd set of rubber purely for the track, Toyo R888's are very good value for money, and are equal with all the other good semis out there, plus cams approved.

I don't mind the R888 on the track (like others they worked better when warm, whereas the much softer V70A was sensational from stone cold), and yes they're on the list, but they're also more expensive than the RSR (I think the RSR is the cheapest, most hard wearing, genuinely streetable tyre on that list).

I agree with you on the RSR's was just dumping other options out there.

Could always go for the time tested tyre...

They have been racing on these since rubber went on rims, would suit bretts overtly sideways albeit "slow" style. I use the term Style and Brett cautiously in the same sentance. This is a man who owns a Fap Snuggie after all.

Alrighty, Tyres and new rims will be collected tomorrow :D

Rear main seal shall be sorted in the next week or so.

What i need from members if they have them is

A) The plug and globe that goes into the indicator, Mine appears to have fallen out somewhere between Canberra and Sydney.

B) An intermediate shaft for the steering. Mine has a fair bit of play before it engages the rack (like 1 full inch of movement) and the scrutineers advised me i would not be allowed to play if presented in this condition again.

I will have pics of the rims tomorow when they are on the car.

Eagerly awaiting your responses for the missings parts

Brett

I asume that you mean the front indicator Brett. If so I have one. Also have intermediate shaft that has been welded. Nedd your old shaft in exchange.
