Commenced work on the Tpak yet again for it's makeover.

Bit of a slow start but none the less, progress is progress...
What with work do's, christmas, kids, stuff wife wants done. you know the drill.....

Image

So started by stripping the guards off and taking all the green off (that yellow is a pretty solid base) did some straightening and now they are all primered up.

Image

Had an idea a few weeks ago about the side indicators and made up some orange ones using a BA base & AU series 1 top.... Easier in my mind to do but got the job done in the end.

Image

Gave the wheels a good sand and thru on some nice shiney paint....

Image

Been working on the bonnet over the last couple days and managed to get some colour on the underside so I can bolt it back onto the car as I have very limited room for bits laying everywhere. Misses comes out to have a look and went thats a bit bright! Older sons reckons great colour choice!!

Image

So back at work for another 4 days and then I have 12 off, so some progress should be made in that time.....

They are AU Series 1 Orange indicators on BA bases... took a little while to get right but something you could really only have on an orange car

mate loved those painted au xr rims you had back at the start... but all the new stuff looks good too... amazing to see what a paint job can do for a car...

also, those indicators look good. i glanced straight over them on my first look, nailed it... top work...

Good work,

You can get an on glass UHF CB Antenna, they are not good for range, but will suit your purpose fine. Police Cars have them

Did think about one of those but the UHF does come in handy for my interstate trips...

Thanks guys

Even for interstate work it should work fine, normally your just calling up a truck to pass etc.

What we have done in the past with covert cars is mount an antenna on the back parcel shelf, Not something I would recommend really.

You can also get a stick on mounting bracket for the windscreen, and then use a little better antenna.

Just some thoughts.........................
