well i finally took it out to wsid yesterday, it was extremely hot.. 38deg c
i did the first 2 runs with the aircon on.lol
first aircon run did 14.0@105 mph then a 13.8@106 mph,
the other runs were pritty much consistant mid 13's
the best for the day was a 13.5@107 mph.. my 60ft times are still s**t...@ 2.4
im pretty happy with the results considering it ran full street trim, full tank of fuel as usual.. :D

so now ill wait for the cooler weather and give it another go...

You know, you could of turned off the air con 30secs prior to ya run and held ya breath with the cold air in ya lungs whilst ya did ya run

to be honnest, thats what the plan was. somehow i think concentration and watching the track marshals i totally forgot about the aircon..
the rest of my runs i had the aircon on up untill the start line and then switched it off,
finished the run then turned it back on again..

Sounds like a reasonable day out.

What were you 60' times?

I left the aircon on at a dyno day once. We couldnt work out why the car was 30kw down on power. :S

on factory ecu's, yes.. but my aircon has been re wired to bypass the ecu control due to not having a factory ecu...

and the aircon pump dont sound to good after 2 runs down the 1/4..lol
it still works fine but sounds like the pump has a knock now...

not possable, the 3" intercooler pipes are in the way..
and why would it need a double cai??
its intercooled, the intercooler efficiency pretty much iliminates the need for the cai....

ah yeah agree i should read the topic abit more i didnt know that the ed was turbo lol

have you thought about water injection to keep the air cooler for the fmic cold it would show far more impressive gains due to a larger drop in intake air temp.

I wouldve thought the title was a give away that was a turbo.

water injection sucks.

a Decent CAI is still worth having even with a FMIC, especially on a hot day.

yes i probably could benifate slightly from a real good cai..
essentually i have the pod shielded/ fully covered and it gets air from behind the headlight and what ever comes through the inner guard,
so its not directly a cai as it still would get warm air but no where near as much heat as having the pod directly on the turbo intake..

after yesterday's 38 deg day drag racing it down the 1/4, the extreme heat didnt feel like it effected its performance. even though it probably did...

i'd say there'd be limited improvements over what you've got.
especially with the XR front.
