scratch that!!!! f**k the coil pack...lol...
that was a massive fail..
everything decided to fail on me... a** hole..

set it all up to find no pip from the crank sensor, ok.so i changed the crank sensor to find that it now had a pip but would now only run on cyl's 1 and 6... hmm..figured that this coil pack was s**t so brought a new one, still no go, after a conversation with ems it seems the ems coil igniter i brought new, near 2 years ago on for the first attempt on coil packs is more than likely f**k, or there is a failure in the ecu coil drivers on driver no2 and 3, not to sure without getting it tested.. so i spat it.threw the igniter over the fence. returned the coil pack for a refund, swapped a few wires around, plug the dizzy and leads in and it fired straight up...
lesson i re learned today, if it aint broke dont try fix it...

Yer I had a mate like that, he bought a wreck and it worked out well for him, must admit to using it a few times myself. Created himself a few more weekends of work before he learnt though hehe. I try not too take it out on the car.. it's the designers fault after all.

If I had a dollar for every time one of my neighbours (& not close ones) have heard me curse henry ford I wouldn't have to drive one.... lol

Isn't it funny how we love our cars :P in a love/hate kinda way.

Taking the frustration out on a boxcar that's low man, do it to atleast an au instead. Save the classics :P

  boxcars are hardly a classic lol
trust me the box car in my yard was already to far gone to save, huge golf ball size hail dents, flat chalky paint 400,000 kms .. i only got for the ghia interior and a cheap run around untill the rego ran out..

its a pitty though considering it was a ghia and had no rust at all. it was just plain s**t condition..

Bummer about the issue with the coil pack, but don't worry man, it happens to us all!

Just leave it as a dizzy setup for now, enjoy it some more, then maybe work out why it won't run a coil pack, maybe a bench test of the ecu is required to see if it's the issue?

Cheers

yea coil pack wasnt something i was set on.. i had the bits sitting there for a while,
it was just frustrating trying to wire s**t up in between rain bursts..
and considering it makes great power on the std dizzy so coil the coil packs are not a necessity...

That's a good point that it does make good power on a std dizzy setup, and you will probably just break the T5 with any more power....

Cheers
