That's a good point that it does make good power on a std dizzy setup, and you will probably just break the T5 with any more power....

If it's a stock box yeah it's really good. There are mods you can do to make them a lot tougher, one of those I will be doing when I rebuild my T5....

Cheers

did some tiding up/repaires in the engine bay yesterday.
after removing the ruber hoses and heat wrap from the throttle and cruise cables,
i found that the rubber hoses covering the cables had melted inside the heat wrap and the plastic coating on the cables had melted from extreme engine bay heat leaving just a metal skeliton covering the cable. also had the same issue with the clutch cable from the manifold and wastegate heat.. so the heat wrap did f**k all..lol

so as a quick fix, i got some black 6mm silicon hose and covered the throttle and cruise cables, also got a length of 13mm silicon hose to cover the clutch cable aswell.
hopefully it should last a fair while as the silicon suppose to handle up to 250 deg c.

also picked up a new radiator header tank and gave the cooling system its 2 year flush out..
a few pics, looks much neater with the new header tank and without the heat wrap covering the cables.. :D

this pic shows how the clutch cable runs to get around the wastegate..

Very neat. The new header tanks really make a difference, much nicer.

What are the covers you have over the strut tops off?

Hows it, just had a good read through the first 10 pages of this and then gave up for now lol, just want to test your memory here, when putting in the afr guage where do i find the hego wire?? and is this the only wire i need apart from earth and 12v? Want to put one in my car, think it may be leaning out when in the higher revs as extractors are melting everything in the engine bay, Flick me a pm with the info if you can would be much appreciated. By the way this car is a legend, would be mean to own one similar! would be alot of fun. Cheers.

Do you have a wideband sensor? If not, its not worth putting in a gauge because the narrowband sensors are very innacurate.

nice build from what it was to what it is now it completely trips you out.is there any real big reason you chose the vct over the standard AU xr6 motor?

no particuler reason, i just got the vct engine as at the time it was pretty cheap, so i thought it would be something alittle different, but in the end made no real difference.
