s**t Troy.

The main thing is that YOU are OK.

The car can be repaired.

You are a very lucky man my friend.

Cheers

yep, got to wait for the shops to open lol..
unfortunatly oil resistant silicon hoses are not readily available from supercheap or peps.. might see if i can get a longer fitting from the turbo so the hose isnt so close to the manifold pipes.. lucky i wasnt far from home, could have been worse, it could have held out and happened on the way to the bathurst cruise coming up...lol

yea all is ok..
the only other damage is the plasic corigated cover on the power steering hose.

on the lighter side,
i stopped after i could smell oil and a mist of smoke when i stopped at a set of lights but it seamed not to bad, so i decided to drive on as i was only a few kms from home.. but it got worse fast lol..
about the last km was a full on epic smoke screen behind me with people beeping there horns at me and flashing there lights lol, it was quite a thick smoke show! by the time i got home the oil that was on the pipes was on fire but as soon as i cut the engine the oil stopped pouring on the pipes..

now i need to full on degrease the front end of the car there is oil everywhere  ...

Braid isnt much chop for going around the manifold. Mine burnt out after a few thousand K's. It hadnt split yet though. I replaced it with an xr6 t hard line with the oil resistant silicon hose on the end with heat tape to help protect it.

Call in Dazfab for a steel one. :)

the only real solution....

I have a stainless drain tube i can extend if you want to make it a better fix soon. Just bend a coat hanger the shape you need....

Cheers

you would be correct daz, did alot of f**k around trying to find a decent solution and what sucks a** for me is the oil drain from gt35 series dont fit the old t04, and the only fittings i could find were what i have or a an fitting that i can fit a braided hose to..
so off to enzed to see about a s/s braided hose, after showing the guy pics of how close the hose was going to be to the manifold he recomended using a solid pipe as the heat from the manifold may still melt the hose through the s/s braiding.. :(. so back to the silicon hose for now, i decided to cut the pipe i have and angled it away from the manifold and welded it up. now just got to get a new length of silicon oil line for now so i can maybe race the car at wsid tomorrow..ill try make a shield to go between the drain and manifold and see how it goes..
if the last hose lasted a year with about 2mm clearence from the pipe this way should be ok for atleast another year lol.....
here is a pic of the angled drain pipe.

well i took it out to wsid to teach it a lesson...lol
still runing consistant 12's 1/4 mile, i did run a couple of 13.0's trying different techniques, it seems at the moment my best times are just simple as mash the pedal on the green light, stalling it just confuses the ecu...lol

it does need a re tune as there was a bit of pinging but i thought f**k it, its doing what i say when i say  ....

Do you really think that would be a problem for me...lol???? Pretty sure the drain i have will fit. It's a bit light duty for my liking, so would be better making one to fit and seal properly....

Any further developments on a new intake manifold??? We should have a chat on Friday...hehehe

Cheers mate
