nice! I managed to find some prices on BF steel braided brake lines for $250 all up. I think it was from a mob in Melbourne that may have been sponsor on here ages ago

Nice upgrade Troy! I'd love to get a set myself, bet they are not all that much more expensive than new rubber hoses!

Cheers

thanks mate,
i can now confirm that my brakes are heaps better, while with good std rubber hoses any car still stops good, but in my case going from perrished rubber brake hoses that made the brakes as efficiant as stoping a pushbike with a thong.lol.
to new braded brake lines the difference is huge... :D

on a side note a few pages back i mentioned my diff was making odd noises after doing bunouts while racing, well it turns out diffs make dry bearing noises and whine when there is f**k all oil in them..(needed almost a litre)
strange enough i had the same issue about 12 months ago and i was blaming the diff place for not putting enough oil in it when it was re built a few years back. hmmm it seems to have happened again, so it appears my diff oil has been dissapearing without leaking :? :?

lol that is odd, at least I know where mine is going (all down the back of the car) my inner left cv joint seal is stuffed all for a $11 part but gunna cost me like $200 to get to it and replace.

Good feedback on the hoses, I will def be getting some soon!

Thought you would instantly love those braided line Troy, So when are you gonna get around to putting my old diff in? it will stop your diff oil from evaporating. The one you got from me has plenty of oil in it. No banana peals though.

ill keep the lsd in for a bit longer, its got a new lease on life now it has oil in it  ..
ill probably put the locker diff when i fix a slight performance issue im currently having with the engine..
the issue is it was still making 12psi boost but seems to have lost about 30-40 kw (from seat of pants feel) and not liking to rev, so i temporary for the last week or so i just upped the boost to 15psi.., that will teach it...

backyard rule of thumb, if its feeling dull just add more boost..

actually ill suss it out and fix it properly tomorrow.. :D

It's not leaking the oil out the breather? I had a diff oil leak there, fit a new breather hose & fixed it up. I reckon the brake hoses on the Ghia are as old as the car, I should probably replace them soon.

Cheers

after this annoying power issues i decided to up the boost from 15psi and try pumping 18psi into it. to hell with mechanical sympathy. suprisingly it gained enough power to make the box slip on boost in 3rd..lol..
after 2 days of this torture there was no signs of blowby or failure..
not to say it would hold up long term but i expected the worse after a few days..
anyway it turned out that the dizzy was a touch loose and the base timing was retarded making the car drive like a dog on 12psi. .
base timing set back to 10 deg, back to 12psi and all is back to normal...

the only down side to my boost party i completely finished off the rear tyres meaning today i spent a chunk of cash on 2 new tyres ..
