i got a 200 amp ac/dc tig of ebay for $600

its a plasma/arc/tig .

dc arc is good for exhaust, welded my stainless flanges onto a hi flow cat, also welded aluminum and stainless with the tig , and cut aluminum and stainless with the plasma. goes great

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/200AMP-AC-DC ... 683wt_1139

Looks pretty f**k good for $600!!
Good pick up corey! How does it go depth-wise? Does it penetrate well?

I can adjust the penetration on the controls.
I've done a few runs on alloy checker plate and penetrated deep , and was wide and flat , also done a few cold looking welds where it's skinny and has a high bead. So yeah depending on the controls I can penetrate deep .
Havnt used it in a while so I forget most of the controls lol

Theres a few company's on eBay selling the exact tig I brought under their own brand name .
Most start at 99c .

anyone that has gasless mix experience, would a 150 amp gasless mig be enough to do the job and any other small projets welding up to 3-5mm??

I have a Gas/Gasless unit and you will find that 150amp will be heaps for the job Troy. 3-5mm with no issues. Gas is better weld finish but if you set everything right the gasless will do a good job, just a little more clean up as Matt has stated. Gasless is great for outside on a breezy day. :D . Offer of help still applies if you want, I can bring my unit if you wish. You can borrow it if you want to do it in your own time.

thanks for the offer paul.. :)
i think ill still buy one anyway as its always handy to have..

Hi Troy,
If you get a gas mig you dont have to use argon gas, CO2 will also work and is easier to get and keep as you dont have rent a bottle you can just use beer gas bottles.
CO2 isnt as good as an argon mix but is above gasless in my experience.

I decided to get under the car today for a bit of random maintanance to find it has cancer. :( , passenger side inner sill has rust...
it started out as what looked like a hole the size of a 5c piece..
a little disheartening but i continued on cuting it out, its now like this...

well i made up a fill plate for the rust section, its a nice fit i just got to grind the paint off the edges when i actually weld it in, which will be after powercruise. lets just hope no one looks under the sill..lol..

What rear tyres you using? If i did what you were doing, i would be singing hare krishna and making peace with my maker. Avoid Rotella tyres. Absolutely useless in the wet.
