a little modification update...
while i was under the car welding the rust in the sill i noticed my rear swaybar mounts on the body were starting to bend, i put it down to the rather poor after thought whiteline put into their mounting design?.. for those that are not femiliar with how the adjustable white line sway bar mounts, there is a large 90 deg angle bracket that bolts to the original body mount and the link bolts to the angle bracket, what this does, instead of putting the load on the centre of the factory bracket it puts it load on the outer edge... in my case the body brackets were starting to bend, so after straightening the mounts with a trolly jack lol i started fitting the new links... here is the whiteline link.. anyway after browsing ebay i seen some aftermarket h/d double ball joint ba/fg rear swaybar links that i thought might do the job..( i beleive they also suit au irs)? so i visited wholesale suspension this afternoon to measure these link pins, and it seemed that these will do the job better then the original whiteline ones.. i only had to make a minor modification to the locating washer as the ed bush hole in the body mount is 18mm and the ba is 20mm.. from this i ground it down to this otherwise fairly easy to fit up.. all done and its now more stable on the road compared to before.. |

will the oil cooler help by keeping the turbo cooler? or just make the engine last longer?

Lookin good, Troyman. cheers, i always use the motorcraft oil filter.. {USERNAME} wrote: will the oil cooler help by keeping the turbo cooler? or just make the engine last longer? alittle bit of both, it will keep the engine oil cooler, as the turbo is oil cooled only the oil is somewhat super heated from the turbo. under extreme thrashing it essentually just keeps circulating getting hotter and hotter untill the oil starts to break down.. this way the hot sump oil is pumped through the cooler before circulating back through the engine... the plus side is better oil protection from cooler oil and oil should last longer.. there is a down side which can also be a positive.. the engine now carries over 6 litres of oil.. |
