If anyone has one or comes across one on their parts hunting missions can you let me know or grab it for me and let me know? I should have one of those floating around somewhere, probably inside the old EL by now (it is still here.) I canned all my ED handbrake stuff in favor of the EL setup.

Thanks for the kind words Ash. Yeah it does look pretty good hey.
Will look much better lower. Hopefully Krudd gives me some money before the weekend so I can get so low stuff to stimulate my ute! If you have that cable RD and can grab it out for me I could kiss you. But on second thoughts a threat like that probably isnt the best way to secure this cable is it?

Yea, it should be there. Will have to pull the crap back out of the EL to find it. I know I haven't chucked it as nothing has gone "out" since I finished my car, it's all gone into the EL. Will check sometime tomorrow.... That is one hell of a threat there buddy, you have me real worried now

Well here is a pic for Josh.
Sorry about the crap quality buts its hard to get a LCD display to come out right on a digi cam. It all works and was a really easy job to put in. All the wiring was already installed for the extra guages in the original harness. Total plug and play. I had to change the oil pressure sender but as the old light one just made it read full pressure all the time. It was going to be $80 for a new ZL one so I thought I would try my luck with one I had laying around out of my old ED. It went straight in and seems to work fine. Dont know how accurate it is but its probably about as good as a factory Ford guage is. Its a bonus that I found I do actually have oil pressure. I think the factory forgot to put that in a lot of crossflows when they built them! I was out at Racedirectors today on some secret mens business when I was looking through his alladins cave of bits. Found an EB steering wheel there that he was good enough to lend me to check to see if an EA-ED wheel would work on the ute. Come home and tried it out and the good news is with a little slight mod to the blinker cancellation arm a boxcar wheel will fit fine and work. That gives me a few more options looking for a sports wheel now. RD"s wheel still has pride of place on the ute at the moment. Besides the fact that it looks a bit better then the original Im too bloody lazy to pull it off. SOrry mate! Ill return it one day I promise When I got back from RDs I had a few hours of daylight left so I started doing my window and trim blackouts. Only got the drivers side done and reassembled today so still need to do the passengers side and windscreen moulds tomorrow. What it looked like standard. How they look now. Will look better as of Thursday afternoon when the windows get tinted. I have decided but that the XF mirrors now look crap so I will be getting some XH ones before I respray the ute in a few months time. I am now on the lookout for a really good set of moulds so I can have them all powdercoated when the respray happens. They are only painted gloss black atm so they will eventually chip and flake but I will just touch them up when it happens. A powdercoated set will look neater up close and will go the distance. Will do the otherside tomorrow , put everything back together , fit the aircon belt and hopefully get around to removing that stupid nudgebar and pensioner extra reflectors onthe rear. Still need to finish off the wheels too and mow some lawns........................can never say ther eis nothing to do around here!

Yeah the dashes are cool in an ugly 80's kind of way............LOL
I love this ute. I just need to get a few bits and pieces done and track down a decent steering wheel somewhere and I reckon I might actually be a happy man! Very hard nowdays to find just a plain wheel. I just want a nice thick rim one with none of the crap plastic and stuff you see on them now days. They need an old school car bits shop somewhere. I reckon they would do well.

The blackening of the door frames and trims are all done. Didnt come up 1000% in a couple of spots and we had a couple of chips from assembling before it was totally dry but it looks so much better then it did before. Just touched up the couple of chips all good.
The terrible nudge bar was finally retired today. Added bonus of the day was I finally got around to putting an AC belt on for the compressor. The AC actually works in it!

Well my apprentice mate at work came through this afternoon.
A set of front Kings springs 60mm lower then standard and a set of brand new 50mm lowering blocks. $190 all up. Very happy with that. The blocks went in the rear this afternoon and the front will get done on Thursday afternoon after I get the car back from having the windows tinted. New steering wheel is on its way. I have ordered a set of leaf spring perches to mod my sedan diff over to leaf springs. Just need to knock up a jig to make sure we get the pinion angle correct when we weld it all up. That will be a little project in a couple of weekends time. Im pretty much at the point at the moment that Im really happy with it and am happy to leave it for a bit until the bigger mods start. Ill keep collecting parts and doing little things but Im really rapped in the old girl. Still need to get a new Front guard and a new bumper bar cause my ones are stuffed so hopefully something will come along soon. Then I need to fix a few minor bits of ugliness in the body and blow a new coat of paint on the old girl when it warms up.
