Just took in one of my old ones into jaycar and told them i wanted a blue LED of it. Still not satisfied with the lighting on the dash, especially on my climate control and the trip computer, many parts aren't being lit up properly.

Same problem i'm facing, the climate control is the main culprit in mine though, the light appears a lighter shade of blue from behind the buttons and is patchy in some places. My trip comp also has the 3rd button not lit up at all. It sucks that LED's are directional. Your cluster turned out tops though and so did that ignition light for the keyhole. Nice work!! |

Ha, yep that exact same one
It pisses me off so much in my EF i almost want to change it all to white LED's so that it doesn't look so bad |

Tempted to open up an old clock (from the GLi's) to see what they look like inside, assuming they are similar.

So how do you change the boot struts? I've had a set sitting here for 6 months I have been meaning to get around to.

This is the way without taking your seats out. Should take you 10 mins tops. 1. get your head under the boot and look for where the strut meets the boot, directly across from that (facing the exterior of the car) is a semi circle clip holding it to the boot. You need to take this off with a small Flathead screw driver until it dislodges from the strut. After this you should be able to get it to pop out with a light tap of a hammer. Warning at this stage the boot will most likely suddenly drop onto your head, BE CAREFUL! Now that it is free you need to get the other end off, do this by leveraging it off the second mount point. Just move it side to side and it should come off. I recommend doing one at a time. To put it on just slide it on, do the far end first. Goes on very easily, shouldn't need to use a hammer at all. Good luck.

Small update: Was chatting to user 'empty' few nights ago and he suggested that i keep my blue LED's and add some 'ford' stickers over the plastic covers to get the ford badge look. Thought it was a great idea, and they arrived today, thoughts?

Good luck. Please disregard everything I said, very bad idea to do it this way, as my struts mount got torn off because i was lazy and did it this way. Very annoying job to get it in again, would NOT like to do it again. Take the time to take your seats out, trust me, far better in the long run.

Small update:
Got the sub installed with the help of a mate. Good learning experience on my behalf, never had much to do with car audio prior to this. Hooked up via a push style switch, hanging out of my fuse panel for now until i can be bothered finding a better spot for it. Suggestions? Yes, owning dark cars really makes it harder to keep clean. This was after 30 mins of rain if the span of one fortnight. I also hooked up 2 LED neon tubes to my amp, so they come on with the bass. Hopefully i can get some pictures of it in action tonight.

Got a second intake in today, just used some old radiator piping. Sits behind the headlight. Seems to have a bit more oomph by the seat of the pants. Revs out easier too. Originally tried to fit a bigger pipe, but there was a fuse panel in the way.
