Nice work with the door handle illumination. Nice and easy having the courtesy lights on the door trims huh?
I like what you have done with this car, nice work. |

Yeah always used to get lost trying to get out of the car, hours on end of sitting in the drivers seat wondering how to get out. Problem no more!

Did a bit of external changes.
The EL fairmont grille Chrome number plate surround. Got the chrome button in after what I guesstimate to be 10 hours of stuffing around to fix a broken button. Solution - araldite. Great stuff. Thinking of going double tickford for some extra power, thoughts? Haha, just wanted to show the difference between genuine tickford badges and cheap fakes off ebay. The fakes are upside had started to yellow in less than 6 months. I replaced them with genuine ones from a 10+ year old falcon that look 100 times better. Get what you pay for i guess! I think after my turning lamps and woodgrain dash spear arrive that will be it for a few months. Planning to go and see metallica in oct/nov so there will be a major hole in the finances before and after that.

All looks good mate. Get the EL Fairmont rear badge, looks alot better. About $23 new from Ford.
I reckon colour coding the grille centre, Ghia style, would look great on the Heritage Green too. |

Ahh I had no idea the EF to EL fairmont badges were different, but just looked up some pics and they definitely are. Thanks for the idea will look into it. Yeah the colour coding is on the to do list. So it was the Ghia's that come out colour coded and fairmonts that had the grey centre? Cheers guys.

A couple of little additions:
Fog lights, yet to be wired up. Woodgrain dash spear from an NF. Carpeted sub and added lighting. Was really after a white light, but had to settle for blue. Cheers.

Good job with the turning lamps, they set the front end off nicely

Looking good, except the dash spear doesn't match the rest of the wood! One that does doesn't exist unfortunately.
Corner lights look good. Just a shame they are useless! Sorry I didn't see your last question. -Yes, EL Ghia had colour coded grille centre, EL Fairmont had grey -The EL Fairmont badge was the same on an EL Fairmont or EL Fairmont Ghia. -It will go straight on, has locating pegs so it will go on in exactly the right spot. Has double sided tape already on too. You just pull the old one off, bit of wax and grease remover, peel the backing off the new badge then slap it on. Looks 300% Sexier. |

Sub box looks a million times better. Needs a smaller/different box or needs to have a custom install because it looks out of place just sitting there in the middle. I had an idea of install for you, just a 12mm thick sheet of wood, divide a third of the boot off to one side from lpg tank to the back wall, then a peice over the top, then cut a whole in the top piece, carpet it all, chuck the amp inside and mount the sub. Itd be facing up but itd look a s**t better I reckon. There is a jigsaw/electric carving knife thing here and a circular saw if you wanna try it. Or even cut the whole in the side wall so its facing the opposite side of the boot

I think it's the flash that makes it look lighter than it actually is. I doubt the layman (laypassenger?) would notice any difference. I'm very happy with it. And the cornering lights will be wired up soon. {USERNAME} wrote: Sub box looks a million times better. I mean that the corner lights are useless even wired up. They just point out the sides. Look good though.

Tell me more about using nail polish remover on the headlights. You just wipe it over the lights with a rag? Or polish them with it sort of thing? I'll give them a go on the EL tomorrow, they are only slightly cloudy.

You will need to be fast as it will evaporate quickly. Make sure you tape up your front bar and open the bonnet. Can eat away your paint.
