the bottle neck behind the TB needs work on all the facotry manifolds, even when used with a stock TB, alot of the aftermarket ones need work too.

messure it up and work out the area of the TB and the area of the bottle neck, you'll suprised.

Well I'm still waiting on a Ford throttle body and EGR spacer.

This is proving the pain in a*** trying to get hold of one in good condition and complete.
At the moment hopefully going to get a 70mm Tickford TB and as a back up I'm still looking at getting a 65mm TB and EGR.

All other bits are are on the shelf in the study waiting to be fitted.
I want to dyno the car now but at $80 a go I'll wait until its all done then give it a go on the rollers.

Yeah I spotted that one but I'm not paying $500 for it.
Thanks anyway.

That intake upper looks awesome! The hole in the side looks like a port for the ACT sensor possibly?

Might be selling the upper. I've decided to port the explorer manifold completely which will then outflow the GT40.

I think the GT40 upper flows about 5 -10% more with both of them stock.

Timmeh nice build. That GT40 upper looks sweet. You're right though, after modding the explorer upper it will outflow the GT40. They're still hot to look at though. Look forward to your results when it is tuned. It should pull alright when you are finished.

Im interested in the upper if you decide to sell. I've been looking at bringing one in from the States, so would be nice to pick one up a bit more local...could also do a part trade with cash + Explorer upper if you needed.

Timmeh, i think you'd be better off without porting the Explorer. For your engine combo i cant see there being any worthwhile gains in porting it. The std Explorer or std GT-40 will flow plenty enought for that mild combo. I just think the money that you'll fork out to have the Explorer ported properly would be better spent elsewhwere.

Also regarding the clutch fork cover. Just give us a buzz or a text and come round. I've got two sitting here. I dont even have one on the ute ;).

Port the lower half of the manifold Timmeh, you'll be suprised how much you can get out of it. Not so much power but a hell of alot more torque.
Remember your trying to give the intake charge the most direct/shortest root to the cylinder.

Yeah I've heard or read that runners 1 and 5 need the most work as they flow 15% less than the others. I'll try and get them all the same so all the cylinders are equal.
