Got the Tickford throttle body today. Man its a nice looking unit. Yes its a little big but its bling. Also there in the picture is the ELGT MAF and the 24lb injectors.

Anyone know what that threaded hole in the intake of the TB is for on an AU? I think I have to blank that. Also the vacuum line for the EGR spacer which will no longer be used.

The porthole you are talkin about, that wouldnt be for the ACT sensor would it? I know the HO manifolds had em in the lower intake. AU has em mounted on the induction pipe apparently.

AHH ha mount it further forward in the intake assy and it registers cooler air. Another trick Ford used to get more power on the AU's I guess?

Not really. It all helps with load calculations and AFRs. ACT measures air density via temperature and adjusts fuel amount accordingly. Apparently the ECU has a correction value to help compensate any possible change in air temp between sensor location and manifold. The closer to the manifold the better in my view. Tricking it to thinking it has colder intake charge will just make it run richer I guess. I dunno if ECU uses the engine temp sensor to determine compensation factor or not. The closer to the manifold the better in my view. Currently mine is mounted in the induction pipe just before the TB.

Thats my understanding of the way the system works anyhow, someone more cluey may wish to confirm/correct me here.

No no no, the threaded hole you see in the front is for the breather to your rocker cover filler spout. Go to pirtek and get the appropriate barb fitting to go in there, i know they have them as i got one for mine.

Don't know what that is. Unless you mean nitrous.

the threaded hole in the throttle connects to the small breather pipe that runs from your drivers side rocker cover, just below the filler hole

No I mean a breather tank... Rather than sucking all those nice oil fumes into your intake manifold.

ELGT MAF is 75mm front opening and 82mm back opening for 24lb injectors. The MAF would be damn expensive seeing as they go for stupid amounts from Ford but Ebay or a Ford website like this one would be your best bet.
I was lucky when I got this one. I've forgotten how much I paid. I think it was $250 or something but it could've easily gone for much higher.

Looks like on the cards now is a switch chip eliminator. $600 for the chip. $200 for a generic tune or $400 for a custom one with $120 per hour for dyno time.

Only need it for the 24lb injectors and ELGT MAF what do you guys reckon. Custom or generic? Cost is a consideration.

well its either 800 or 1120, I'd be going a few extra hours of overtime and getting the custom.

It also depends if you are planning to modify it more too, if you arent I would definately go the custom, 1 hr should be heaps for them.

If you got a generic, you wont be getting the most out of it and any little flatspot will be a pain and you will notice it eventually.

By the sounds of the pricing, it would be BPT.

There won't be any further go fast mods to the car.

The entire mod list will be as follows.

70mm Tickford TB.
75mm EL GT MAF.
24lb injectors.
GT40P heads (larger valves than normal GT40Ps).
1.7 Yella Terra roller rockers.
AU 220kw cam.
Port matched Explorer manifold.
3" exhaust.

What do you reckon a custom tune will get me at the wheels keeping in mind its a manual with heavy duty Xtreme clutch?

The aim of this car and its mods to me is what I reckon they should of come from the factory. I don't want to go all out just a nice heavy cruiser.

With the tune I wouldn't want it at its peak I would like it tuned down just slightly so I don't have to worry about summer or bad batch of fuel.
