That looks really good Tim.

I too do not understand the draggy bum fad and a car has to be either level or with the front lower for it to look right in my eyes.

BBM conversion is a good mod.

Cheers

Cheers Ben...

Yeah looks a million bucks on what it was before...

So the fronts are now the Pedder's Sportsryder shocks (featuring a 30mm lower carrier) and fitted with the Pedder's grey springs (the lowest springs)... And Pedders grey springs for the rear...

With that combination sounds like it should sit lower than it does... But doesn't phase me... Looks not too bad now... Should settle a tad more as those bolts which come up through the mud guard settle into the top rubber...

Rather please now...

Ok... Something I thought I'd try but wanted opinions to how tacky it looks... :? May not mount up very nice yet...

Thoughts? Will get a night photo soon...

Cheers,
Tim

Oh forgot to mention... Ignore the bit in the grill... That is the excess of the length I haven't cut off yet...

Cheers,

Hiya Timmy

On this occasion I have to call "RICE".

If you can make it more subtle it might work and maybe if it went across the top of the indicator and the headlight.

But sometimes, and this could well be one of them, less is more.

Cheers
BenJ

thought it may have looked like eyebrows... but because of each lamp being individual I wasn't sure it'd look right... And I don't think it justifies the time in trying to mount them up neatly... Will check it in the dark and see how it looks... But thinking I'll keep the more factory approach at this stage... Just a little too stand out-ish...

Cheers,
Tim

Mate, if we don't try out ideas we will never know if they will work or not.

Cheers

Beautiful car mate and seems as though you've put so much effort into it!!
With the LED strips, maybe try under the indicator lense?
Otherwise yeah I agree with others they stand out too much where they are.
Keep up the great work bud!

Cheers, Luke

Cheers Lads...

Yeah not sure if I like it... Pretty sure it'll remain std XR though... Not quite as effective as I would've liked...

Thought the XR light and the LED strip my have looked like an eye and eyebrow but I'm thinking not so much now...

that was an alternative but they don't really float my boat...

After all the headlight modding that goes on nowadays I think I like factory better... As mentioned above LED's are done to the death now and actually head towards tacky... I wouldn't trade my LED's in my dash and interior lights... But I don't think I'll putting them on the outside of the vehicle (CCFL's included)

Makes it hard to be individual with them when everyone has them...

Cheers,
Tim

Long time no visit...

News of late is I've been shopping... for me

Nothing like buying Christmas presents for yourself... Helps with a pay rise and lots of OT lately...

Latest purchases are a new larger winch for my trailer... In the process of making it up to fit the mounting plate on the trailer... 6000Lb of power and much larger than it looked in the photos... Will tip the trailer a lot easier though... :D

A new set of wheels which turned up today... Still 17's (personal preference)... ROH Drift R mags... Were for sale on here... Look good... Still have dish... Reason for these is due to damage in the holes in my current AJR's and in turn they keep damaging the nuts... Someone must have used the wrong nuts at some stage and ruined the taper in them... So will mount the tires to them one arvo and fit them up...

And also turning up today is a VCT head conversion... Complete top end basically... BBM to exhaust gasket... Included all injectors, fuel reg, pipework, thottle body, iac, all the bits and pieces... So this will give me one hell of a starting point... Start pulling it to bits now and get the head skimmed and the injectors cleaned and the like...

Will get some photos when I get a spare moment...

Troy, if you're still subscribed, can you help me please

With the VCT... I'll hooked it up for starters and see how it goes... Curious how it behaves and no doubt you can inform me... No power to the solenoid is low rpm and power to the solenoid is high rpm? Or vice versa? And what rpm was the change over point? 2000 or something like that? Do you know if it matters which pin in the solenoid is power and which is ground? Just been making up the jaycar freq switch for it and had these curiosities...

Cheers,
Tim

hi tim.
the vct solinoid works the other way around..
no power to solinoid= high rpm and 12v to solinoid= low rpm.
the change over point is at 3000rpm..
from memory the top pin in the solinoid is the 12v in.. or i think its the yellow wire...

Ok Cool... So I'm using NC contacts at the low rpms and then they'll open and hence drop the power off as it gets to 3000rpm... Sweet... Yeah I don't have the plug... Will just find a plug that fits the solenoid and wire it up off that back into my freq switch... Yellow wire would be power I'd say... Std Ford colouring there... May have a look round ebay and see if a happy snap somewhere doesn't reveal it...

Thanks for that Troy...

Cheers,
Tim
