Well done on the nominations!!!

And of course, when you are in Sydney, I do expect a visit to occur.

Cheers

Thank you sir!

I will be on a coach and part of a 'group' so wont be able to do much as far as the visit in two weeks is concerned... Feel free to come visit the world skills arena on august 31st, sept 1 and sept 2... It is in homebush showground maybe :/ wherever the hell that is for us non sydney familiar folk... I'll be in a cubical in my own little world fiercely wiring up a panel... From what i can gather it is not only massive but interesting to see all the different skills...

Depending on what happens with regard to any other visits placings etc... I may be more free... Really need to spend a week or so there... Friends in newcastle i gotta see... You guys in sydney... Ash is out in the sticks somewhere... Lots of people to go to yarn to... One day... When i have more me time... Did i mention i hate sydney? Bastard of a place to try and get round in... :/

will keep you posted for sure if/when/what happens...

G'day lads!

Been a while since I've been in here... Turns out second time with that MLS gasket was a charm... Car runs spot on now...

Done 275km today to Wagga and back and used 22L of fuel according to the instrument cluster. So that is a far improvement over the mix match system I had with the old EL computer and log manifold... Really quite impressed with 8L/100km.

I've had it on the dyno and it makes only a couple of rear kw more than with the ED gear, but the most impressive figure was the torque curve. Which I failed to get an actual value of torque for, but it is miles above the ED torque curve and then I did about half a dozen runs trying different bits and piece and removing the induction system and things like that... Got so busy comparing the curves from each run, I didn't see what the torque actually measured at...

No doubt many of you would think it's a waste of time seeing as I didn't gain much power... But this suits me just great... From 0-3000rpm where it is driven each day I have great torque and pull from down low now, which is what I was aiming for all along... Power drops off early in the high rev range, so not sure what has caused this, be it the phasor sticking or not working quite correctly or what... Works good down low though. Just got to put in the Cam Tech lumpy stick now and re-dyno it...

As a general wrap to myself and my whereabouts for the last yonks period. I've been to Sydney for trades skills in preparation of world skills... Been starting my training to be the best sparky my age in Australia... Long road there... And had the Leeton awards night... I took out first in stage 4 and then the highest campus award which was student of the year... I was then invited to the Riverina TAFE awards in Wagga today and was recognised for my excellence in electrical at Leeton and then was successful in taking out apprentice of the year for the Riverina region, the highest award I'm eligible for at my level... So that was sweet, came home with a small wad of prize money and certificates, shield and a trophy... So came home with my arms full... Very stoked and this proves if you set out with a goal in mind, you can achieve anything... Very flattered to be awarded this high at the regional level... This week I was also nominated for apprentice of the year for the state training awards so I have that later in the year too... One module down in my engineering diploma, many too go... So plate still has heaps on it currently... But i'll get there... One day i'll find time for that camshaft... :?

Thanks,
Tim

G'day Lads,

Thanks for that... After four years of apprenticeship and me saying to myself that long ago, I want to be the apprentice of the year, this is one of those really sweet victories. Even despite all the "nerd" comments I get from work, this is terrific still and I'm stoked :D

Cheers,
Tim

I wrote my last comment in this thread really recently, I think the time stamp is close to correct.

However I have noticed a few glitches with the forums, particularly the garage & Marketplace sub forums!

Cheers
