Speaking of testing things, after driving my white Xr8 the other night, and taking a good hard look at the peddle box & firewall, they both seem good. I'm going to check the adjustment of the clutch cable tomorrow, and if it hasn't got anymore in it, i think i'll have to pull another T5 box out, as it's probably the throw out fork causing the issue. Cheers ToranaGuy sounds fun. question. if i slip you some cash do you wanna make me a EF/L alternator bracket to suit EB?

To be honest i don't really have the time to be doing things like that atm, sorry dude. I had to modify the alternator housing a little as well. Some metal needs to be taken off the bottom of the alternator bracket & the top of the housing to allow it to fit. And then it only just fits. You just need a grinder with some grinding & cutting discs. Not a hard job dude. I've got a spare alternator here i should mod so that it's a bolt in swap for when the time comes that i will need it. Cheers ToranaGuy

I will if i manage to make the time to be able to do it. I've got 2 mates up in Bendigo that want me to work on their car's as well, but i don't have the time. One i know will take a whole w/e.
I was going to swap the LPG tank over in the white Xr8 today, but it's too windy to be working under the bootlid right now. It's time for lunch anyway. I've spent all morning job hunting, submitting applications & chasing up my superannuation. I think i need to get some lunch & then get into some work on the car's. Cheers ToranaGuy

I played with the Xr8 a bit yesterday, with the help of muncher2002, i removed the old out of date LPG tank & fit a "spare" tank i have that has been tested in the last couple of years to the car. This tank didn't have a lock off at the tank end, but no worries, i pinched the lock off, a inline screw on type from another spare LPG tank i have in the back yard.
They were both APA EA-EL Tanks, the one i fit is 2 years older, but was retested in 2008. 2 of the brackets didn't line up with the holes in the car, so muncher2002 had a drilling time (lol) drilling in 2 new holes. The car runs on LPG as well as petrol now. But there is one issue i need to resolve. The original install used a copper line for the fill line, and the fitting doesn't screw onto the tank. Not to worry tho, i have a flexible fill line from the ED Ghia i wrecked, i tested it & it screws on, so for now it just sits in the boot, until i get around to mounting it up properly. There are more pressing issues to deal with, and next time i get under it, i need to replace the exhaust hanger rubbers, they are very poor. Anyway, i better go offline & get some more work done. Pitty it's so windy outside, i can't weld in this wind. Cheers ToranaGuy

I had to move the red Xr8 off the front lawn to mow the weeds on friday night, so i jump started it & moved it, while i was there i had a look at the replacement mirror for the passenger side, the one on the car had broken glass, so i swapped the mirrors over ( makes it easier to back into the front yard now ). Threw the old one on the trailer for the next tip run. I also went went thru the shed and threw a couple of imac ED GLI door trims onto the trailer as well, as they don't match my Xr8's trim, and i have no use for them.
My front yard is starting to look tidier now, weeds mowed & some rubbish on the trailer for a tip run. I should be ripping the stuffed carpet from the white Xr8 out today & that too will go on the pile. I have a replacement from a ED Ghia to go in. But i need to weld up the firewall before i fit the new carpet. There's no wind today, so i might finally get the welding done. Cheers ToranaGuy

Got some welding done, now i need to get some tar to seal it all up. Ripping the carpet out, i got a surprise, a module under the center console with a ford logo on it, looks like a module for a factory alarm....
Anyone know anything about them? Cheers ToranaGuy

Typically, the Cruise Module is located under the centre console, screwed to a bracket hanging off the centre bin.

In series 1 have have seen the cruise module up under the dash, attached to the peddle box. Attachment: P1010020.JPG There is also an alarm speaker under the bonnet with a ford logo on it.
