It's been a bad day.
Please don't take a picture. It's been a bad day..................

Ok, gotta get that REM song out of my head. Anyway, long story short, i had 2 issues happen today, right before i was to leave for Bendigo, switch in the ignition barrel broke  and once that was replaced my BEM started to play up, no power to starter solenoid. After a lot of screwing around, i replaced the barrel & ignition switch, swapped in another BEM & got the car running, did the trip & just got home.

New clutch was great on the hills, almost no down shifting at all, even pulling my nearly 600kg empty tandem trailer.

Tomorrow i have to remove the steering column & fit the new barrel & switch, can't have it dangling around forever! I'm so not looking forward to that job!

Cheers

Well, it's been a while since i have updated this thread, i replaced the steering column, switch & put in my barrel to keep the keys matching, and have done little to the car except give it a clean & drive it a little, enjoying the stereo with the 2nd amp now.

Anyway, today i was looking in the boot for some rope, and i had a look over at my amp, dunno why, but i did and i have now got a great idea on how to install my sub & amp in the boot, that should give me almost as much airspace in the box & i will loose very little cargo space, which is important as I'm always carrying gear of some sort in the boot.

I won't let the cat out of the bag yet, but i think i will take some measurements this w/e & draw something up in autocad.

I've got a party tomorrow night to attend, a friends 21's, so i think i might get the mighty boy out for the trip, have only driven it twice a couple of kms in the last couple of weeks, it might be feeling a little unloved.

Cheers

In series 2 onwards car's i have seen that. In series 1 have have seen the cruise module up under the dash, attached to the peddle box.

There is also an alarm speaker under the bonnet with a ford logo on it.

I have always wondered what they are but can you give us a part number for the module so i can do a bit more digging?

I'll check it out & post up the part number tomorrow.

Been rather busy lately, looking for work, doing things around the house like work on building my "spare parts shed" and so on, and had a few little jobs to do on the car's as well. My Ghia's starter motor died the other day, so i bought an AU replacement from the wreckers. It's nice to have it back on the road, I've been driving the mighty boy until yesterday when i put the new starter motor in.

On the mighty boy, i have adjusted the tappets & cleaned up a small oil leak, but i haven't really dealt with the oil leak, unsure how to stop it leaking. The T piece i put in the side of the block is leaking, not a lot, but enough to drip & puddle on the sub frame.

Today i carted a load of scrap metal off the the scrap yard, only a little 6x4 trailer load, not a lot there & was surprised to get $57 for the effort. Now my front yard is a much tidier place, i'm sure the neighbors will be glad to see the trailer empty again.

I'm hoping the weather is going to be good this w/e, i have so much to do outside. I also have a couple little car parts that need either paint or primer, that i'd love to get moving along too. I have a half done battery tray for my Hz pano, the outside has been stripped, primed & painted gloss black, now it's time to strip the inside & repeat the process.

I think i should post up some pics tomorrow, what do you guys think?

Cheers

you should have throw some ally and copper in there, we took 2 heads, 1 radiator, and 2 rockercovers aswell as a few metal pieces like brackets from I6 motors and 2 aircon pumps and walked out with $60, all fitted in the boot of the laser aswell as 2 12" subs so shows you how little we actually had to get the $60

Those sort of items like old cyl heads, rocker covers, alloy brackets & so on went in the last scrap run dude, this stuff was just a few left overs, like a boot lid that was from my mates car that was stuffed, i gave him the good one of the F3 ED Ghia i wrecked recently, even fit it to his car for him. I also had a white ED boot lid that i had been holding for a while that a guy wanted, but hasn't responded to my pms for a while, so i scrapped it. I need to keep my place as clean as possible to not get in trouble from the council.

Last run i made, i had a shell with some steel in it, and lots of alloy bits, wiring, and so on, come back with a killing, i think it was almost $300 for the scrap run. :D

I've gotta get my white Xr8 finished & on the road so i can play with the red one, then once that's done i can have room to wreck another car, there's still a couple of bits i need.

Cheers

Yeah, 90% of macca's have drive thru eftpos these days. Thx about the Ghia man, but you haven't seen it in good daylight, it's a little rough around the edges, needs a few touch ups of the clear coat, a new bonnet & the front bar has a few cracks to repair & then repaint it. But it ain't too bad.

Cheers

lol dude. T51r might be a little big. The Kei car's usually run a rhb31 or rhb32. A GT12 is a bolt on replacement, flows a little better. A GT15 is the size i'm going to aim to fit. I don't think anything bigger will fit where it needs to...

I won't be driving the Mighty Boy to WA any time soon, i think it's a little far in something that small lol. BUT.....I have a couple of in action pics of the mighty boy, but they are all from the "drivers view" lol. Here's a pic of me passing the "holK' mighty boy....

I probably should take a vid of it running but It really needs a new exhaust on it, sounds ok at idle & low rev's but you can hear the center muffler rattling when the rev's build up. I should charge up my camcorder & maybe take a vid anyway.

Cheers
