The dude in the blue one, Ben, is about 6ft 3 or so..... It's a bit scary driving beside a semi trailer when your in the mighty boy! Cheers ToranaGuy

Has anyone done any wild engine/driveline conversions on one of these? Eg: 4G63 and AWD?

{USERNAME} wrote: Has anyone done any wild engine/driveline conversions on one of these? Eg: 4G63 and AWD? 4G63 won't fit. I have heard of a mighty boy converted to AWD with alto works gear, never seen one tho. I have seen pics of a swift G13b, 1.3lt 4cyl, SOHC carby engine & 5spd fit & registered in NSW. Had to cut the front rails to fit it. There' are one or two mighty boy's rumored to have AWD gear in them but they are not road legal conversion. There are a few holden v6 & v8 powered burnout special mighty boy's too. {DESCRIPTION} was the plates on a early 80s suzuki hatch, which is the same mechanically & same floor pan as a mighty boy. Got the Suzuki Alto Works RSX (or was it RSR i can't remember) F6a, 660cc, 3pot, EFI, DOHC, Turbo, the 5spd AWD gearbox & all the AWD stuff, inc the rear diff swapped into it. There's a Mighty boy currently getting a charade 3 pot, DOHC EFI Turbo engine & 5spd box, that is a very tight fit. Only just road legal. Brackets had to be welded into the engine bay to bolt the engine mounts to. It also has A/C fit too! The blue mighty boy that i have shown Ben driving as i was driving past, that's got a Supercharged F8b 796cc 3 pot from a Suzuki hatch in it. Stock 4spd manual box tho. A pic of the supercharger setup during developement. Ben doesn't have any current pics of the completed & run in engine bay showing the supercharger setup. It's the same as they use on early mini's. Custom extractors for the supercharged F8b Those pics are freely viewable to the public over on the Tamon.org Galleries. {DESCRIPTION} I have a gallery on there with a few pics of my mighty boy up. Mine isn't as cool as guys like Brayden, the site admin with his "snot rocket", or Colin's Esky with the charade engine, or even the Holk, with Alto works turbo fwd running gear, but i have plans to make mine cooler. I have met a few of the coolest mighty boy's in Aus & their owners, was a great cruise weekend. I missed out on some Alto works AWD gear to convert my mighty boy to AWD, i just didn't have the cash at the time. The AWD gearbox will bolt up to my F8b engine, I just have to notch the firewall a tad to pass the tailshaft pass it, and the rear end in the mighty boy is leaf spring, so fairly easy to fit the rear diff. Cheers ToranaGuy

Did a little bit of work on the White Eb S1 Xr8 the other day. I have tapped the A pillar a little where the hinges bolt on, and the drivers door is lining up ok, it's not perfect, i need to adjust the holes in the hinges a bit, but it's more than acceptable for a 19yo street car. I have also cleaned up the rust in the dog leg & sill on the passenger side, it wasn't as bad as i thought it might have been. Just doing a fill job for now. It has been treated with rust converter too.
I was hoping to do some more work on it today, but ended up busy with other tasks. I might get a bit more filling work done on it tomorrow. Oh yeah, the ford alarm has the following number on it. 3A01392.I'm going to do a little research & see if i can come up with some info about it, but from the writing on the underside, it's definitely an alarm! Cheers ToranaGuy

I have driven one of the 3 cylinder daihatsu mira with a 5 speed manual multiple times and it's such a fun thing to drive and the only thing I could complain about is the brake peadal and accelorator pedal gap cause I use to rev the engine nearly everytime I braked due to having big feet, so I recommend if you wear a size 12 shoe or above drive bare foot LOL
that supercharer setup looks very neat and quite compact Cheers bear |

I find i have trouble with the peddle gaps in the mighty boy if i have my steel cap boots on, but with runners or formal shoes i can just manage, I'm a 9 to 10 depending on brand of shoe.
The supercharger setup is very neat & compact, still has a few bugs in the setup, from the last time i was speaking with the owner, but overall he is very pleased with it. Nothing you do that is that custom will run perfect straight away. The intake manifold is a work of art, just like the extractors. I should see if Ben has any progress pics.... Might get me more motorvated (lol) to do more work on my mighty boy. Cheers ToranaGuy

Only issue i have with my falcon in regards to feet is that i want to drop my right boot to the floor all the time, but that is rather costly fun. Weather is not all that great today, but i might still get some more filling work done, and i might even get the top of the back seat swapped for the ghia one. I won't be doing the bottom until i have put some more carpet in the car, and i won't be doing that before the firewall is finished. Cheers ToranaGuy

Been busy playing with a few car bits in the last few days, as well as doing a few other small jobs around the house too. Got a little progress done on a couple of parts to be fit to the car's soon, and a progress pic of the Xr8 too.
Attachment: P1010004.JPG Attachment: backseat.JPG Attachment: mb leaf spring.JPG I have also been busy getting the fittings ready to make my LPG transfer hose, so i can drain my full but out of date tanks in the backyard into a car so the gas can be used. The red Xr8 is on reserve atm, and is straight LPG, so it will be getting the first transfer of gas. I should be able to get about 1/2 a tank moved before no more will flow, due to both tanks pressure being equal. So it will take a little stuffing around to move the gas, but it will be worth it. *Yawns* Didn't get enough sleep this morning.... that might teach me for being out all night, now i can't get motorvated to work on the car's.
I have a couple of errands to run this arvo, maybe after they are done i will give the Ghia a wash, it's filthy atm. Maybe that will motorvate me to get into them? The other night i laid down some paint on the 2nd leaf spring for the mighty boy, it's probably ready to be sanded back for another coat of paint, and i can probably fit the battery tray to my panel van now too, it's paint has dried..... One less part to clutter the shed up, so many more to be prep'd & painted. Cheers ToranaGuy

It's been a week since an update, and have done a little on the car's.
Rubbed back the spring & painted it another coat of gloss black, for the mighty boy. Wasn't happy with the battery tray on for the Hz, so i rubbed back the run in the paint & re painted it. Looks better now. Organized some fittings to make a LPG transfer hose, picked up some gas plumbing tape (yellow teflon tape) and made the adapter. Using a flexable fill line as the transfer hose. Cleaned some tools - I can always find a dirty tool in my shed somewhere. Done some more work on building my storage shed. It's about 80% done now. Swept & vacumed the shed - it had gotten dusty with all the sanding recently done. I was out for dinner with my mum the other night, and got to drive her ED Futura, drives very, very well for a well maintained stockie. But the manual window winders are on the way out. It has cruise, so I'm going to check to see if it has the high series cabin wiring that runs under the carpet. If it does, i will do a power window conversion on it over the summer time. Why bother replacing dodgy manual winders? My mum likes the sound of it. I need to buy another wreck for parts anyway, so i should be able to score a couple of decent power window mech's, and probably only have to buy one or two to make a good set of 4. Another little project to add to the list. This arvo i gave the Ghia a good wash, and started the red Xr8 for the first time in a few weeks. Man, it sounds tough. My panel beater mate dropped by to borrow some stockies off me, so i got to talking about how to tackle fixing the front end up, and i now have a plan for it. Anyway, i better get back to it, need to check on the LPG transfer into the red Xr8. It might have half a tank of gas by now. It's a slow process...... Cheers ToranaGuy
