Excuse the poor pics, night time photography with "only" a 2mp camera is not great....

I won't take a pic of in the boot atm. 2 gas tanks with a transfer hose might alarm some people.

Yeah, my place is a car yard. lol.

I did a little experiment tonight, i have taken my new parcel shelf down to the car wash, hung it up where you wash your car mats, hit it with some interior cleaner, let it soak & blasted it with the water gun. It's sitting atop a clothes airer atm, with the heater on & fan running in the room, should be dry by tomorrow arvo i reckon.

I know it will be out of shape due to being wet, but i can mold it back into shape when i fit it to the car. You wouldn't believe how much dirt come out of it! It was amazing. I also had a thought that it would be nice to make up a fiberglass parcel shelf top instead of the carpet one, so when i remove the current one from the Ghia, i might keep it around to use for a mold when summer comes around.

Or would that be too "pimp my ride" like?

Cheers

I recon it would be good done right, only thing that turns me off is if it decides to rub anywere you may get a rattle/sqeek out of it.

My 2 cents.

I have already thought about how to deal with that lol. Rubber strips under the bottom of the c pillar caps, a small rubber strip between the shelf & the rear window, and a rubber underlay sort of how the stock part has a felt underlay.

But i wonder, what color should it be? Body color? Grey like the factory part or some other color?

Cheers

why would you bother putting carpet over fiberglass? thats a very EL Venom thing to do...

white could work, or gloss grey, but i most likely wouldnt go body colour.. well not green anyways lol.

black is always good

lol guys. I wouldn't put carpet over it.

I dunno about black, with so much grey in the interior?

I reckon it would be a good way to do away with my speaker spacers.... hrmmm. Just wish i had some shed space to start working on the idea. Ah well, many other things to work on first. Speaking of which, i better get back to it....

Cheers

ok call me CRAZY.. but place the spacers UNDER the carpet on the shelf, it will make the carpet sit up more but you wont see them.

Hey, Toranaguy,
love your setup, dude! Lotsa toys, lotsa fun...but I had to make a comment about your Holden van...I had a HQ van when we were first married (we were living at her mum's so the back was handy at the drive in...) Anyway, it was a 253 3 spd on the tree, (noticed that you'd put a 253 in yours) - dude, they suck fuel like there is no tomorrow...I have owned Chevs, barge Fairlanes, heaps of Falcon V8's and even an old Desoto, I have NEVER known an engine to suck fuel like that 253 did...reason I'm mentioning this is that you may want to consider a swap - I went to a 350 Chebby for about 3 months before it blew to bits but the crazy thing was it was more economical to run...when it did go I sold it - last I saw of it the guy I sold it to was doing an engine swap...wait for it....to a 289 and C4....I mean I love unusual stuff but thats a bit weird...
Oh, and on the subject of MightyBoyz, go to Blownhemi's youtube channel and check out the mightyboy burnout car there - you'll love it!!
Cheers, John.
