The rain buggered off, and altho the ground was wet, i got some serious progress made. Tomorrow I'm hopeful it won't rain, and i will get the job finished & get the car started. I have to fit the extractors & my modified for LPG Injection intake tomorrow, then hook up all the wiring & fuel lines for both petrol & LPG, then adjust the clutch & handbrake cables, fit the radiator & thermos, then fill it with fluids & give it a go.

Can't wait to get my Ghia back on the road, I miss riding in leather recaro's! Altho i will probably only have it a day or two before it goes into the panel shop.

Cheers

ToranaGuy

With some help from my mate, known on here as muncher2002, i finished the job off today, and the beast lives once again. ECU needs to do a learn then i can tune the gas, but for now, it lives. It will be getting a good clean & removing my stuff i normally cart around in it, and early next week it's off to the panel beaters it goes.

It's nice to have a new shim in the clutch, it feels like new again. :D

Cheers

Drove the Ghia to work today, other than the rev hang & needing to do a tune for the LPG Injection, it drove rather well. Gotta work out this rev hang issue. Didn't have it with the old engine. Maybe i need to reset the TPS?

Cheers

Thx dude. It's up & running again, but still a couple of bugs to sort out. Like the rev hang. That will have to wait until either Sunday morning or after i get it back from the panel shop, depending on weather.

The mighty boy is pretty cool atm, but will be cooler with the new front bar, which is from a Suzuki Cervo Mode, new seats & a few other little mods i have planned. Might get some of them done while the Ghia is in the panel shop... lol.

Cheers

I've had 2 previous jobs done by this shop, they do good work, so it will be sweet.

Did you dad end up getting a refund for such a s**t job? If that was me, i would have hounded them until i got a refund, or cracked the s**t & started proceedings against them! I wouldn't take such a dodgy job lying down. I hope your dad hang s**t on them at every opportunity, cause it sounds like they deserve it.

The mighty boy will look good after i get the front bar on, and when i get the seats done it will be a lot more comfortable to drive too. I drove it to Bendigo & back today, almost 400km round trip for me today, forgot how bad the drivers seat is. Fuel economy was around 8/100 with a very strong head wind on the way up, lots of hills to climb, and lots of rain too. So that's a pretty good result.

It usually averages about 6.5/100 around town.

Cheers

I worked out my rev hang issue after work today! Cruise cable, was holding the throttle open. Funny thing is i can't adjust the cable with the adjuster nuts, so i might have to replace it. I've got a few so that's not a costly issue, just one more thing to replace.

Still can't get the LPG injection working right, got a wiring issue now i believe, might have damaged the s**t excuse for a injection loom the LPG joint fit for the lpg injection. Not that it's a big deal atm, it will be in the panel shop soon, i will worry about that issue when i get the car back.

Cheers

The Ghia is at the panel shop, and i've been busy cleaning up the leather seats in the EB2 Ghia that are for sale. Will post up some pics soon.

Cheers

Pics of the leather seats for sale. Drivers seat needs a retrim, but the outside bolster isn't damaged, which is very typical. Needs a bit of foam work to the base, but that's easy stuff. Passenger seat is pretty good, has some wear but nothing major. Rear seat has a few marks but nothing major either.

They will require some leather conditioner to soften them up a bit.

Been playing with the white Xr8 this arvo, didn't have to work today, and the weather was good. Anyway, swapped over the bent front end bits on the drivers side, and found the drivers rim still rubs on the z bar a little. Nowhere near as bad as before tho. Pulled off some plastic splash shields & found the sub frame is bent a little at the front on the drivers side. Not majorly, just enough to cause issues.

Oh well, i have a parts car for a reason. It has a straight 6cyl sub frame in it, that i reckon i can drill the holes to mount the v8 radiator hose connection & power steer lines to, then swap that into my Xr8. It's a job i was hoping i didn't have to do, but shouldn't be too hard with an engine crane holding up the engine while swapping the sub frame.

Cheers

I believe the mounts pedestals are different on the V8 K frame to the 6 Cylinder one.
