yeah not too shabby at all, my lane used to get 6.5-6.9 somewhere on the highway.. but i swear i had a stuffed converter in it as i was basically on idle all the time.. even with the stall tho its the same.. im hoping once it cops boost it wont change haha boost + 7L/100k FTW lol

Cool man. My g/f's tx5 does an average of 10/100 suburban/city cycle, getting into boost a little bit, but not using too much right boot. 2.2lt 4cyl with a rhb5 turbo iirc. It's a 5spd too.

Your economy is pretty good for a lane! In the Ghia, i average about 15/100 in a suburban/city cycle, traffic lights, hard take off's & stop start traffic, which i think is pretty good for the way i drive it. It could be better if i was a bit slower, but bugger that, i like to enjoy my car.

Cheers

*** Update time *** :D

With the help of my cousin, my best mate & a mate from down the road, known as muncher2002 on here, i have loaded up & taken the white ED 6cyl to the scrap yard, inc a bit of scrap steel & scrap car parts, made some good coin. I have more to take, but that can wait a week or two, next on the list is a tip run & general tidy up around the place, so i'm not looking like so much of a car wrecking yard lol.

Thanks for the help guys, it's greatly appreciated. Might get one or two little jobs done on the Ghia this arvo when the sun starts to go down a tad, i have been outside long enough today & don't wanna get burnt.

So that's now - 1 x ED GLI Sedan. + $200 in my pocket.

Doesn't sound like much, but after the bits i've sold, bits i've kept, 6cyl engine, rad support, guards, bonnet, front suspension bits, carpet, and so on, i got about $1500 value out of it, if you consider what parts like radiator supports cost from the wreckers.

Cheers

Time for another round of updating... This is almost becoming a blog isn't it? Don't worry guys & girls, i won't start to post every time i f@rt.

With the ED GLI gone i was enjoying some front yard space. I could swing anything you could swing & not hit a car for a change. ROFL.

I've been busy on that note doing a few little things, done some more panel beating on the Xr8. A mate is going to drop by with a really big slide hammer on saturday to finish the job off. I have also been sorting thru some interia trim i saved from the ED GLI, put a few small bits into my EB Ghia to make it a bit tidier, as the trims start to get crappy after more than 400,000kms!

But that's come to an end, in the way of a ED Fairmont Ghia I6 sedan. I picked it up cheap, it's going to donate a power window console, door looms, door trims, all 4 door motors are tested as being good - to my g/f's Xr8. It has lots of wood on the dash that will be for sale, has leather & velour seats that i may have already sold, a leather wrapped cruise wheel that will make it's way into my EB Ghia, premo sound amp, sony cd player, alpine cd stacker and this stacker has the cartridge in it, the Xr8's doesn't. :( The Ghia also has a LSD diff that seems good, gotta do 1 more test to confirm that, which will be up for sale real soon, as i don't need it, all the other Eb's have LSD diff's in good shape already!

I have also painted up one of the new rear leaf springs for my mighty boy. Might get time to press the bushes in tomorrow. Then i need to prep the other spring & fit it's bushes. Need to do this in the next week or so, i'd like the new springs & bushes in before the big trip up to the murray in the mighty boy.

I have finally moved my compressor under my steel work bench too, so it's now out of the way. I just have to plumb up some air lines around the shed to be really cool. My mig welder did live under the bench, but i have another spot for it to live when not in use. Right where my clutch kit & a tub of spare calipers are currently living, once i fit the clutch kit lol.

Anyway, i should hit the hay, lots to do tomorrow & i wanna be fresh to do it.

Cheers

I said i should hit the hay, but my cat decided it needed to throw up as i was going to go to bed, so i had to clean that up, before it stains the tiles.....

Thx dude... I wouldn't say no to a visitor that wanted to buy some parts from me (or take smaller parts not worth much/anything), especially a fellow ford mods dude! I've found it so much cheaper and easier to pick up a parts car with the bits i want, then offer my mates any parts they want either cheap or free depending on what parts they are, then offer them up on fordmods, and whatever is left that i don't want goes off to scrap.

This is the 3rd car, and 3rd EB/ED that i've wrecked in just over 3mths. Picked it up for a good price i won't disclose on here just yet. ;) I really wish i had a back yard to do this in, i wouldn't have to bother the neighbors with car's going from looking half ok or better to looking like they belong in a junk yard just before i take them off for scrap. They are pretty good tho, they know i don't keep things around longer than i need too. But i'd much rather the mess was in the back yard & not the front yard for all to see. I don't have a backyard to do that, so on a fordmodding i go in the driveway & front yard.

Oh well, can't have it all can we? My next place either has to have a big back yard or i need to buy myself a factory to take my ford modding & wrecking there, lol.

Cheers

I was crapping on about the cluster, swapping the odometer, so here's a pic. I went backwards ( good thing ) from 192,000ish to 115,000ish. lol.

The odo broke back in december, and it is so nice to finally have a working one again. :D I will keep the 192,000odd one & pull it down, it may only be the plastic gear, as everything turns freely, but it doesn't tick over when it's in the car.

Here's the "parts car" ED Fairmont Ghia. I6, auto, air ( working ), p/s, ABS, Leather & Velour trim, LSD, only 3yo LPG setup. Banged up a bit in the front, but repairable. Too bad, i'm wrecking it. :D

My mate might be grabbing the LPG setup. Shocks are very soft in it, so probably shot, p/s seems to be good, and i could use a new rack in my Ghia, so i might have scored there too.

Cheers

Looks like the wood grain & the seats are sold already. :D Engine isn't in that bad of shape, it runs a little rough & leaks a lot of oil from the rocker cover, but doesn't seem to burn oil, might just need a tune & oil leaks fixed. I don't need the engine anyway. I took it for a short test drive today, LSD diff is in good shape it seems. Auto shifts much nicer than i thought it would, runs on petrol & LPG. It actually drives really well, engine is only a little rough at idle, smooth everywhere above idle.

Anyway, i'm off to bed, goodnight.

Cheers

Almost, it was the left side mirror only. The interia was fairly dirty too, lots of rubbish under the seats & in the back seat. Tyres are very worn, car was very dirty on the outside, but all the electrics work, everything in the cluster works, had woodgrain bits, leather wrapped wheel in better than average condition, and a couple of other bits.

I didn't much done on the projects yesterday, it was more of a day of stripping the wood bits to advertise, stripping a couple of other small bits off the car, taking photos, loading broken plastics onto the trailer & so on.

I wish i had more space, there another fairmont going off soon, v8 auto, full electrics. Some coin to be made on that car.

Cheers

True lol, but i don't have the coin to go buy it either, which sucks. By saturday i should have made my money back on the ghia, and stripped most of what i wanted off it. That's only 4 days lol.

Cheers

Been taking a few more bits of the "parts car", and i have pulled the factory premium sound amp out. Having a look at it, it has 2 sets of rca in, it has 4 channel outputs, a 30amp fuse as well. I'm scratching my head to work out what power output, RMS that it has.

I have been considering a 4channel amp to power my door & parcel shelf speakers with, and if this amp is more than 20w RMS per channel it would be worth hooking it up, as my head unit is about 15w RMS or 50w per channel, so it would make a bit more noise. and i can just unplug the cabling & replace the amp with something a bit bigger down the track.

Do i hook it up or not bother? I know you can buy better amps, but atm i have a wiring setup to allow it to be wired up, and i don't have the cash for a better amp lol.

Cheers

that amp is perfect for speakers, i hooked my factory one up to my 12 inch, it thumped pretty good. but i was running the stock headunit with busted screen so i couldnt make any adjustments.

i dont see you needing to upgrade it if its purely for speakers and non competition it will be fine

That's cool to know. I think that will have to be a job for sometime next week, so i don't have it lying around in the shed, in the way, lol.
