Has a lean miss. Under load there is no miss. It starts to miss when cruising & the ecu starts to lean the mixture out (as it should for lean cruise). No issue on petrol. O2 sensor is readying always lean, according to the OBD1 diag unit i have.
I changed the plugs & the issue wasn't quite as bad. I wish i had one of the ignition system diag units being created by a member on here, would make it much easier to sort. I have a new set of plugs in the shed, and a few coils, a set of leads & so on that are all good. This engine was running 100% in the parts car, so it's something to do with the wiring in this one..... I'm fairly sure the o2 sensor is ok, I have a few spares and should test another one & see what happens. But tonight, first order of business is to wait for it too cool down, need to change a heater hose, it burst today. If it's not one thing it's another. On the way home, the water leaking on the dizzy was creating a great missfire issue.... Cheers ToranaGuy

WILDEB wrote: damn heater hoses *shakes fist* thats why when i did the engine swap i changed all of them! All of the hoses except the large one that runs under the manifold to the tap were replaced in the last 12mths. That was the only hose, and it had to blow out today! Grrrrr.... Anyway, a spare hose has been fit, and there are no more leaks. I think there is a bit of moisture in the dizzy, car is running a tad rough still. Will look into it more on friday or saturday. For now, it's running again. 89S-PACK, The LPG wiring could be damaged at the top of the firewall, or it could be an earth issue. Going to sort the earths first, then work from there. It could also be a dodgy solder in the injector loom too, where the petrol loom is cut for the LPG ecu to take over the petrol injectors & emulate them working, when it's actually running on LPG. I'd love to redo the injector loom & stick a connector on it so you can unplug it properly like the factory intended, the LPG install screwed that up, petrol loom unplugs & LPG loom doesn't. ARGH! Cheers ToranaGuy

how many pins is it? supercheap sell plugs, you could just choose a spot and cut the wires one by one and put them straight into the plug

I have a narva trade size connector pack, with loads of ISO type connectors, from single up to I think 8 or 10 pins. Yeah, it cost me a packet, but it's been great over the years! Cheers ToranaGuy

A little progress update. Done the 2nd rocker cover, needed to get another can of paint as the 1st can's spray nozzle broke. Drivers side rocker has a bit more shine to it. Also makes the rest of the engine look like crap lol. But it was a good test run, for when I do my 173ci 6cyl for the torana.
Attachment: P1010013.JPG Progress is progress, no matter how small or where it's made. I've been looking into a new radiator for the mighty boy, going to get an alloy radiator that is meant for a mini minor. Twin core alloy, similar size to the "correct" radiator for the F8b engine the mighty boy now has, but it's less than 1/4 the price of the "correct" radiator. I will have to make up mounting brackets & fit an adapter into the drain port to fit the thermo fan switch, but that's not all that hard. Today was a busy day off work, had a 1.5kw solar setup installed today. Just need to wait for it to be inspected & then turned on. Will be good to help reduce my power bills, allowing more money to be spent on other things, like maybe car's.
Did a service on my sisters Mazda 323, old 87 model tonight. Running a lot better now. Probably the first service it's had in over a year. Gotta do a service on the Eb Ghia tomorrow, if i can find the time. I still have not gone over the car with a multi meter, been busy doing other things... Might just run it on petrol for the cruise on Sunday, unless i get time tomorrow to sort the LPG issue. Anyway, I should get offline, have other things to do before tomorrow rocks around. Cheers ToranaGuy

Well, this Melbourne weather we are having didn't stop me from having my Birthday BBQ that I wanted...... I have other outdoors stuff in my house, so Owen & I cooked the bbq in my rumpas room, it has tiles on the floor so why not?
Attachment: P1010016.JPG On another note, my front yard is flooded out, my mighty boy is almost floating away! With my mum & my best mate here, there is a total of 6 Early E series falcons here 4 Eb's & 2 Ed's. Cheers ToranaGuy You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

dont know if you caught gasolene last night mate but they had a torana car club cruise and they were saying that the torana guys are using jaguar (i think it was) 3 pot front calipers that just about bolt straight on, a 10mm spacer and away you go.
would be a welcome upgrade for your torana. might be worth looking into. cheers |

There's a fairly cheap VT upgrade available, by that I mean a full bolt on kit with a certificate of compliance (ie engineered) for about $1200, and the mob is local to me. But then I need commodore wheels. Down the track that's the plan, as I want to fit a VL disc brake diff, but there are other things like body work & getting it running to be done first.... I spent a little time in the shed yesterday evening, after doing a couple little jobs on my Eb Ghia. I have started to tidy up the battery wiring on it, and I have started to prep another C pillar cap for it, since it has overspray on it when it come back from the panel shop... I wish it wasn't raining, I'd be getting a lot more done on the toys atm. Cheers ToranaGuy

Got a little work done on my g/f's Tx5 turbo tonight, oil & filter change, cleaned the K&N a/f out & changed the leads. Running much better. Cleaned some tools & put them away, made myself a little more work space in the shed.
Also killed some spiders that have been hiding in my garage door. Need to say thx to Matt for helping with the service tonight. Cheers ToranaGuy
