Depends on the weather & if I'm working or not. My g/f's dad & granddad are going up on Saturday if it's not too hot.

I don't really have anything I need to buy atm, or that I can really afford either lol.

Cheers

ToranaGuy

oh bull. there's always something you need lol

Ha ha ha.... funny... Yeah ok then... Maybe...

    Turbo for the EB,
    turbo manifold,
    dump pipe,
    FMIC,
    cooler pipe work,
    larger injectors,
    bigger fuel pump,
    J3 chip,
New gas injection system that can cope with boost.
A few small bits to fix the EB Xr8's.
A clutch fork for the Torana.
Manual conversions or TH700 conversion for my panel van.
    Time.
    Time.
    Time,
    more time....
    Daylight.
    Days off work.
    Daylight...
    ROFL.

ROFL. Speaking of which, I need to go do some mowing, so I can then move onto playing with car's. Just ate some left over pizza from last night for dinner, that will do for now.

Cheers

Yeah, they are getting a bit harder to get good bits for them. But there is also not as many ppl interested in them as just a couple of years ago....

If I had the time I would have loaded up the trailer & had a stall up there, but I doubt I'd make enough cash to make the site fee worthwhile...

I got the nature strips & front lawn mowed, hooked up a hose to slowly drain the small pool I have, as my g/f has not looked after it over the winter & the water is filthy, so its getting changed.

Cheers

Well it's been a little while since I have updated the thread. I've been busy working my a*** off, and have not done a huge amount with the car's. However I have managed to pickup a few small bits I need from work.

I have also picked up a new alloy radiator to fit into the mighty boy, just need to design up some brackets to mount it, and the thermo fan. Not to mention get a thread adapter so I can fit the thermo switch to the bottom tank too. I will try and get that done in the next week.

Something I did get done the other day was a new set of tyres for my gf's tx5 turbo, and I picked up a set of filters for my EB Ghia's LPG Injection system. I also priced some 8mm ID gas line, as the car has 6mm and it's really too bloody small. Stupid installers! Hopefully I will get some new line & fit it soon too.

Oh yeah, I managed to fix my weed hacker the other day too, so now the weeds are at bay once more. Cost me $30 in parts to fix it up, would have cost $150 for the mower place to do the job.

Cheers

ToranaGuy

Another slow week in the build progress of my toys. Due to this weird weather we have been having here in Melb, and by the looks of it across the country. During all this, my mind hasn't been idle tho. I have drawn up some prelimenary brackets to mount my new radiator & the thermo fan in the mighty boy. Just need some good weather to take a few measurements to work out how much alloy I will require for this project.

I have a fair bit of steel bar, but I reckon it's too heavy for the mighty boy, and some alloy bar would do the job while keeping the weight down.

I picked up a can of e9 everglade, some thinners & some primer in anticipation for some better weather to come shortly. I also have plenty of black plastic, but I need to get a good roll or two of clear plastic to make a "make shift" spray booth in my shed......

Anyway, time to hop off again, stuff to do.

Cheers

$57 for a 1lt pot, should be enough to do the door around the glass, the front bar, the side skirt, and then I will probably need another 1lt for the passenger guard & doors. A 4lt pot is a lot better value, but I just don't have that much cash to spare atm.

Cheers

yeah i know how you feel. we have PPG paints supplier up here and they have fixed prices for paints... 1L = $x and 4L = $xx and so forth obviously apart from pearls and flip paint etc.. but they make it up there on the spot, give you a sample sprayed onto a card then your free to go home and compare the paint before you pay for it.. high quality paint too. i love PPG stuff.

I've bought paint from Distinctive Paints, which is down the road from work before, always had good dealings with them. Yeah, there are some places a bit cheaper, but the service I get there is well worth the extra couple of $$. These guys are also really, really good with color matching, if you have the car there they can do it on the spot for you, and can even make up your color in pressure packs if you wanna be lazy or have a really small job to do.

So p****d off it's raining when I come home from work tonight, means no progress on the car tonight. :-(

Cheers

A pic of a "spare" mighty boy radiator (1 core) I have and the new mini minor alloy 2 core radiator that I have to fit the little mighty boy. Going to have to get a new 10" thermo fan I think, and I need an adapter to fit the temp probe into the bottom tank, but that part is easy to sort. Stock fan is way too big & won't fit without lots of work, which probably isn't worth it anyway.

In other news, slowly sorting stuff in the shed, found a few little things I was missing. Also ordered in 2 new mounts for the mighty boy's engine too. If this weather would make up it's mind & stop going from rain to shine & back again, I'd get some work done on the fords too!

Cheers

In the latest breaking news:

Picked up some adapters for the temp probe for the mighty boy's radiator, and after some measuring up of it, decided on a 9 inch thermo fan. Ordered the fan, just awaiting it's arrival.

Got a half serious offer for my panel van, but until I see a big wad of cash waving in front of my face I won't be taking it serious. The offer is from a mate of a mate, so I might have to clean the van up a bit, put the front clip back on & invite him over in the early new year if he is keen to talk some turkey. Because the shell of the van has so little rust, and by early new year I might have that one bit cut out & replaced, along with a honest body, I wouldn't be considering parting with it for anything less than good money, they are just too hard to get decent shells these days!

I might have located an Eb2/ED v8 manual ECU & loom for reasonable money. Got me thinking about a v8 conversion to the Ghia & scrapping the white Xr8. Unless another idea I have works, I dunno if i could really afford the rego on it as well as the Ghia, the mighty boy & maybe even the panel van. Hrmmmm.....

Cheers

I'll be pulling the running gear out of it & putting it in my Ghia if I do it. But I probably won't, it's just a thought atm.

It might be a whole car, but I think the engine is dead. Won't know for a few days.
