Number 1 Gas injector is sounding like an air hose leaking instead of clicking on & off like it should.

If you have some E series injectors chuck them in.

Cheers

I dropped into a gas joint the other day & played around with some test injectors, my #1 injector is very dead. Next week the supplier opens up, so I will be seeing what a replacement is going to cost me.

I also ran outta primer this arvo. :( Better pick some up tomorrow, a couple more small parts to prime up, now that they have been cleaned of paint, rust & crap. Still can't find my welding magnet, so I better put that on the list for tomorrow as well. Anyway, things to do, chat later.

Cheers

Yeah, it's a bugger about the gas injectors, but I will get that sorted as soon as they are back & I can get another injector. I think I will only replace one for now, save some money for other projects on the go.

As for the painting, it's just the gearbox crossmember & a suzuki mighty boy rocker cover that were both rusting up, nothing too special yet, only primer on them atm. Might post up some pics soon.

I picked up a can of primer at work so I can finish the primer off, and forgot to get a welding magnet. Might have to pick that up tomorrow. Gotta love working in an auto parts store, can get stuff for projects without going out of my way lol.

Cheers

Not really man. The issue with the auto parts game is that there are a lot of parts with many names, and not all of them are listed in ACE. Automotive Computing Excellence. (apparently lol)

A good API should have been able to suggest a rear engine mount, as most manufacturers call the gearbox mount a "rear engine mount" when it's not mounting the engine at all. Stupid if you ask me. On a FWD car it could be a rear engine mount, on a RWD car, it's a bloody gearbox mount! I'll send you a pm with a bit more info in it. ;-)

Castor rod bushes are a good bad example of something that has a few names!

Cheers

WAY back in this thread, someone asked about engine transplants for the Mightyboys.
I spotted this just now;

Hey man,

Thanks for pointing that car out. The F6a turbo engine is a somewhat common swap. I was considering it, but there is way too much in my current F8b, so sticking with that & moving forward. My efi intake & turbo exhaust manifolds are from a F6a turbo engine just fyi.

Cheers

I've got a new gas injector on order, Just a replacement (18lb), as they are $170 each, so I really can't afford to swap in the 21lb injectors. $170 x 6 = too expensive for little gain. Better to remove the whole front end of the kit & fit something else!

Should have it by friday and be up & running on LPG again. Will be good to cut my fuel costs, give me more $$ to spend on the toys lol.

Cheers

im interested in the gas injection setup.. can it be done with dual fuel? or do you have to remove the fuel injectors and replace with gas ones?

Mine is dual fuel. Don't know of any commercially released straight LPG injection setups, unless that mob in WA actually has them past trials & onto the market with the profire ecu? I bought myself some new gas line as well, spent $209 all up at the gas joint. Will look at fitting the injector on the weekend, too many other things to do tonight. Probably won't get enough done to have time to play with this.

I also picked up a new timing belt & tensioner for the mighty boy thru work today, but I think the supplier set a F8a item not F8b. Gotta check my spare old one....

Whatever you do, don't get Easyjet, like I have. 200kw flywheel is the limitation iirc. I'm sure there is a full engine pic somewhere in this thread, anyway, they all look similar.

Cheers

200fwkw wouldn't be bad for your work/tow car though Jay. and yours was the first gas system pretty such.

and huggiebear: if your gunna run a turbo and gas injection and are aiming for big numbers it'll be pricey. a mate in Horsham has been there and done that. can't get big enough injectors
