BenJ wrote: What diff ratio are you running?f An EA T5 combined with a 3.27 diff will give the same effective ratio as an EBII T5 and a 3.45 diff. I have the EA-3.27 combination in my wagon, and it does make it sprightly off the line. 5th gear is also different and sits approx 200rpm higher at 100kph. Cheers BenJ Hi Ben, I currently have an ED T5, so the later gearbox, and I think it's a 3.27 rear end, EB2 LSD. It already jumps off the line bloody quick if I get traction. I wasn't as worried about the ratios as I am about the reverse syncro. But nice to know that I won't "need" to change to 3.45's anytime soon. Wreckers checked over all the 5 T5's they have, all are a bit crunchy, so they are trying to organize me another box, hopefully tomorrow. I wanted to fit it this w/e. The sam - Thx man, yeah getting something done is better than nothing, but sometimes it's hard to see the progress of the little "somethings" lol. If the gearbox doesn't arrive tomorrow, I might have to rebuild the carby on my mighty boy this weekend & drive it until I turn up a good T5, or until I get an Xr8 on the road, which if this rain won't piss off, will be a while. Cheers ToranaGuy

Re the reverse, I just slip it into 5th before selecting reverse, and 90% of the time it goes in with no problem. If it doesn't then a quick release of the brake/hand brake to let the car move slightly does the trick.
Cheers BenJ

Thanks for that Ben. Here's hoping a good T5 rocks up tomorrow for me. Cheers ToranaGuy

Still have not managed to end up with a good T5, I might have to settle for getting a crunchy one that has good gears & rebuilding it now, not what I planned.....grrrr......
Otherwise, here's a tease for a few of you......... Currently about 50% finished, a couple of inputs are working & I should post up a small vid of playing with it while hooked to my laptop. My old thinkpad crapped itself, should really dig up something else with a com port, unless I hook it up to an old win2k pc maybe? I have enough pc junk to build a dedicated machine for this job.... Who likes my placemat under my keyboard? Gotta love getting extras @ work. Thanks Red Ranger! Cheers ToranaGuy

It's only a H4 conversion too, no HID's in there yet. Yeah, a Mighty boy makes other car's like Eb's look huge. I was wondering who was in the blue ute with the camera hanging out of it, now I know. Almost famous! Cheers ToranaGuy

Sold another car part that I didn't really need, a top tailgate window for a hq to wb panel van, and later saturday evening I swapped in my new 3 leaf springs for the rear of the mighty boy. Handles much better. Some pics later.
Cheers ToranaGuy

Pics time...
New spring on the left & old on the right. Upgrade from rubber bands to paper clips lol. New spring installed. The little ute doesn't bounce around anywhere near as badly now. I gave my mate a dishwasher today, and moved it with the mighty boy. Yep, it get's used as a "ute". Cheers ToranaGuy

WILDEB wrote: LOL. a "ute" Superpro bushes? Yeah lol man. I can't remember the brand, think they might have been. Same spring & shackle bushes as a few other little suzuki's like sierra's, hatches, some early swifts too. Anyway, better than stock rubber and about 1/3rd the price too! Even with my trade discount. Mighty boy ftw! Cheers ToranaGuy
