I'd be needing the blankets off my bed for the bottom of my shed door. Double car garage with a swing open door. Then there is the gaps at the sides & top to deal with. I'm thinking a trip to clarke rubber for some rubber strips, then the hardware store for a new drill bit and some bolts to bolt it to the door frame would be the fix.

I think I need to measure up the door & work out home many meters & how wide of a strip i need to get! Dammit, now I've got another project. I was trying to not take on new projects this year, and only get some of my current ones finished!

Cheers

Nah man, pitty, otherwise the hobo fire could be an idea, I do have a fair bit of wood here to burn, would take a few long nights in the shed to burn it all. Maybe I need to make a fireplace for the shed? I was going to once upon a time, maybe the time has come to do it. I have an old 50lt hot water tank I cut up, works pretty good, but needs a few mods to burn better & be less smokey, and needs a flue too....

Cheers

Yeah..... but I guess it's something I've thought about before. Will do some measuring & planning this weekend I think, as well as get a heater sorted for the shed. Might start with an electric heater, so I don't waste too much time on making something else, time that could be spent working on car's lol.

Right now, I'm at my puter and working on some stuff that needs doing in relation to my home network & getting a few more items ready to list on Ebay. Always something to do lol.

Cheers

lol man. Sometimes it's working on the car's, other times it's hoarding the bits to do some work on them. Today was one of the "hoarding bits" days.

Picked up a valve cover gaskit set, pcv & grommet today at work, Hoping to get the new valve cover stripped & in primer over the weekend, I'm getting tired of the poor running that the cracked valve cover & stuffed pcv is causing. While I'm fixing it, why not tart the replacement one up a bit eh?

Also picked up a new set of shelves we have on clearance at work, can take 200kg per shelf, so will be good to get them up in the shed soon too, but the weather has to be good enough to move the car's out to do that job......will be surprised if that will happen this w/e....

Cheers

Normally about $30 as a pair, but I paid $10.88 staff price, makes up for the not so great wages. My pcv is constantly flowing, the grommet is hard as a rock & the valve cover gaskit is buggered too. Too hard for even silicon to fix the leak lol. Will save me a bit on oil too lol. It's been leaking a fair bit of late, about 1lt every couple of weeks.

Cheers

Well, been busy hoarding bits for the T5 rebuild.

Currently have the following bits:

T5 suit rebuild
New front bearing retainer
"full" bearing kit inc seals

Still need to get a syncro ring kit & a rubber for the shifter , that's going to set me back probably another $300. This is becoming a very expensive rebuild, Might not end up saving much compared to letting someone else rebuild it. :(

In other news, the Mighty Boy has been running fairly well getting me to work & back since I did the coil & dizzy in it. It's going to have to keep up with that task for a few wks yet I think. Also have a valve cover for the EB Ghia in primer & high fill, ready to paint, maybe tomorrow night I'll get some paint on it.

Cheers

More pics time. The T5 WC rebuild kit & front bearing retainer, here's a lot of coin.

Also got some paint on the rocker cover tonight, need to wait for it to dry, then lay down a 2nd coat, after that I plan to sand back the ridges & ford logo, and hit it with some clear to seal it up. Should look hot!

Yeah it's a Holden red 6cyl on the stand and a modified sump for it on the floor.

Cheers

Been busy today, got a few things done, amongst them was to change the thermostat in the mighty boy. The brand new dayco item I bought was a dud, so I found a "spare" brand new in the packet older stock dayco thermostat, tested it, all was ok so fit it. Now it's holding temp properly, idles properly too. Should help with the fuel economy, it's been a tad bad of late, getting 8/100 lol. Should be about 6-7/100.

Also did some more work on the rocker cover for the EB Ghia. It's currently just waiting for the clear coat to dry, then I can fit it with the new gaskit set & pcv to the car. Can't wait to have it running properly again. Yeah I touched up the couple of spots where I rubbed thru the blue. It looks pretty good, but it's not show car quality.

If I ever do this again, I won't be high filling the ridges, there's a couple really small spots where I can't get the high fill sanded back, due to the poor casting. From the sort of distance most people will see the valve cover, it looks really good, but up real close, it could be better, but I don't have the time to make it like a show car, hell it's only my "daily drive" lol. Has to be good, but not great.

Thanks BenJ. Can't wait to have it on the car & have the car running properly again. PCV is currently constantly flowing, causing poor vacume & rough running. I should be picking up some syncro rings this week too, the gearbox specialist I spoke with, a trade customer thru work, said to replace the syncro's for the lower gears, 5th & reverse should be good, they don't get much abuse in the T5 apparently.

I also have some billet cluster retainers in the mail too. :-)

I also did some panel beating on the rocker cover for the red motor on the stand, it had a nasty dint in the back of it, now it's only got a few small pick marks that I Need to grind back slightly and it will be looking good again.

Cheers

I believe you should change all synchros and bearings. May as well for peace of mind knowing that all parts were freshened up and won't need to be done again.

Is that T5 bearing kit you have complete? For some reason it looks rather bare. I got a full kit from Cerini Motrosports in the US and it had double the amount in that box. Did you also pick up a billet bearing retainer for the back of the cluster? It replaces the stock stamped steel once and improves strength greatly. Apparently the case flexes badly and so does the steel bearing retainer which causes the cluster to drop away from the mating gears = wear.
