It's supposed to be the complete kit minus syncro's, there is heaps of little parts all closely held together in one spot in the plastic wrap. Looking at other rebuild kits online, I can pick most of the extra stuff as being all stuffed in the little bag in the top middle of my kit.

I was thinking to replace them all, been told a few times I shouldn't need to do them all. I think I can stretch my budget to do them all.

I have ordered the retainers from the US, just waiting on delivery. I ordered two, so I have one for one of the other T5's if I have to rebuild them. I currently have 3 Eb's running T5's, and a box sitting in my rumpas room lol. Yep, 4 x T5 gearboxes. Someone doesn't like auto's lol!

It's time for lunch, then I better get something done around the place.

Cheers

Been a busy boy getting a few things done. Had a day off work today to take care of some business, and that I did. Once that was done, then it was time to take care of some toy related stuff. Got that done too. Have priced up some rubber to make a seal for the garage door. Priced up a couple of electric heaters, not sure which way to go yet, either a fan type or one of those radiant heaters?

Also found & studied a T5 manual from the tremec website. Also watched a few vid's on youtube about the T5. Should come in handy when it's time to rebuild it.

Mighty boy is running much better now the thermostat is holding correct temp, fuel economy has picked up, not sure how much exactly yet, but already I've gone further than I used to on the 1/2 a tank I have used. Half a tank is about 13ltrs, done just under 200kms thus far lol.

Also priced up a trainer for my mountain bike, as I could use one so that I get some exercise thru winter & use my bike, bloody expensive thing that I don't get to ride very often.

Cheers

Thanks mate!

It was too cold and windy today/tonight. Didn't let the day/night go to waste tho. Maybe tomorrow night after work if the weather isn't too bad. I wouldn't mind driving it to work Friday. As much as the mighty boy is fun, I do quickly miss RWD! With the new cover in, along with the new pcv & gaskit, it will not be a pig to drive again. Just a whiny b*tch due to the gearbox noise lol.

Without saying too much, I embarrassed a P plater driving a Hyundai Excel, with the mighty boy today. ;-)

Cheers

Yeah, a real novelty, almost a novelty toy lol. Get's heaps of looks, and even more since the exhaust has been done. I've had a few ppl chuckle when I pull alongside them at the lights & they hear the rumble from the exhaust, look over & get a bit of a shock.....

Time for bed I think.

Cheers

Grrrr, rain & wind. I wanted to fit my new valve cover tonight. Ah well, maybe tomorrow night or over the weekend, weather pending. I have picked up a few consumables from work today, so there is still plenty to do if I can't get the valve cover on.

I had someone enquirer about separating the center caps on the mags that are on the red mighty boy. If they are the same as other chevoit caps, I might just keep them for the torana's wheels. I'm fairly sure I'm missing one of the caps for them. :-(

Cheers

Good luck man, I'm hoping for at least one reasonable day this weekend, need to get a few things done. Like the valve cover on the Ghia & strip a few more bits from the parts car....

Cheers

Well, woke up, it was raining, well drizzling to be exact. Cracked the s**t & decided I'd do the job anyways.....here is the results...

Image

Looks better, drives much better due to better vac now the pcv isn't leaking vac. Brake peddle is also a LOT firmer, as a bonus. It don't look too shabby sitting atop my engine, but now the rest of the bay looks worse than it did lol. Excuse to schedule some time to tidy it up somewhat.

Cheers

Thanks man, nice to get feedback like that. I took the car for a drive today, and again this evening to pickup a mate who come over for a catch up, and I'm loosing coolant. Also found the windscreen is getting condensation on the inside near the dashboard. Might be the heater core....... argh!

Cheers

So do I Ben. If it's not that, maybe the head gaskit is weaping a little here & there, not constantly leaking. Spark plugs don't indicate any leakage into cylinders, their color is consistent. It's running too good to be constantly leaking from there. There is only 2 hoses left in the engine bay that have not been replaced, might do them next weekend.

Anyway, I still don't have a good gearbox in it, only reason for driving it yesterday was to give it a run & make sure it was much better after all the effort of the valve cover, gaskit set & pcv replacement. Which it was. I'm awaiting parts from the USA for the gearbox.

Cheers

Took it for a drive today, can't find the leak yet, but it looks like the top rad hose has been weeping (again). A bit of staining on the radiator tank under the water inlet. Time for some new silicone & a better T bolt style clamp, damn davis craig temp probe seems to be leaking again.

In other news, didn't actually do any work on the car's, spent a bit of time tidying up in the shed, so I could erect some new shelves I picked up at work, $89, tool less assembly, holds 160kg per shelf, and it's bloody big. Has made a good improvement to getting tidier. Which ends up giving me more room to work, helping get stuff done quicker. I might pick up another from work soon....

I also need to plan to get a bottom roller tool chest to go with my 2 other kinchrome parts, that would help too. I have more tools than I have draws to fit them all. Priced them up @ bunnings, but I should see if I can get them cheaper thru work.

Cheers
