Time for some new silicone & a better T bolt style clamp, damn davis craig temp probe seems to be leaking again. In other news, didn't actually do any work on the car's, spent a bit of time tidying up in the shed, so I could erect some new shelves I picked up at work, $89, tool less assembly, holds 160kg per shelf, and it's bloody big. Has made a good improvement to getting tidier. Which ends up giving me more room to work, helping get stuff done quicker. I might pick up another from work soon.... I also need to plan to get a bottom roller tool chest to go with my 2 other kinchrome parts, that would help too. I have more tools than I have draws to fit them all. Priced them up @ bunnings, but I should see if I can get them cheaper thru work. Cheers ToranaGuy i don't see why you have issues with your temp probe leaking. had mine like over 12 months now. no issues

I don't either. I have the little rubber thingy on the radiator inlet, then stick the probe in the slot, then fit the hose & clamp it down. New hoses make no difference. Tried Gates & Mackay hoses. Not tried a factory hose, which are made by Mackay anyway.
I used some silicon & it hasn't leaked for about 6mths, but it's started again. I think I need to upgrade the clamp from a s**t std clamp to a T bolt stainless clamp. I have a couple to do just this... Cheers ToranaGuy

Mine has Ultra Blue all the way around the neck and over the probe.
Doesnt leak a drop. Silicone is your friend on this one.

Yep. It's not the radiator getting old either, it's only 3 years old.
Ah well, I went out for tea with my g/f tonight, so no workie on the Ghia lol. Maybe tomorrow night. I'll be taking the mighty boy to work again tomorrow. I have also recently worked out I really need a factory for all my toys & tools lol. Cheers ToranaGuy

Got a plan that is being put into action right now, that if things work out, I will be building 4, selling 2, then renting the last one out to finish the loan payments & pay for things like rates, water, power & tools lol. Cheers ToranaGuy

Sorted out the water leak on the EB Ghia the other day, took it for a short drive & no issues. Also been busy on a few little things for my shed, like fixing up some dodgy brick work, so I can then just fill the now small gaps between the shed & the eve of the house, and get some rubber to make a front door seal...
Reason to do that is to lower the cost to heat it. I priced up some space heaters that run on LPG at bunnings the other day, looking about $110 to $150, depends on if I go for a table top patio style heater or a square space heater sort of like the big ones you hire for parties & heating your shed when your spray painting. I know which way I'm leaning, I just need to work out where I can actually set it up! So much stuff in my shed....

Eb has been playing up again. Suspect the fuel reg. Will swap over a spare soon as this weather buggers off.
In happier news, my 2 billet cluster retainers arrived from the USA. Just waiting on syncro's now. Cheers ToranaGuy

Went up to Bengido on the weekend just gone, to see the Midstate Mopar's show. Was a good day out, pitty the EB's head gaskit started to let go. Ah well, chemiweld to the rescue atm.
I'm still waiting on the syncro's to arrive, should be any day now. Got a quote to do up my spare head, to get the ports done & a full reco will be $800. Then I need a set of head bolts & a new gaskit, if I go MLS, there won't be much chance from $1050. I've been thinking I might as well get a cam, but that would require shims & a j3 chip plus tune to make it drive-able enough, so I think a cam will wait a while. I don't really have $1500 to throw at it right now. Wish I had some cash to blow on the Eb Ghia......Altho I should probably just use some more chemiweld until after I have the new T5 rebuild & fit, then either do the head work or spend the cash on the Eb Xr8, $1500 would probably see it on the road..... Cheers ToranaGuy

damn 4L. sounded pretty bad when you left me joint. bit of T5 whine. bit of missfire lol. i'm not a fan of chemiweld though. but if it's only to tie you over til the T5 is done i guess thats alright. just being a mechanic is telling me chemiweld is the devil

I assure you the miss is close to not being there anymore, thanks to one bottle of chemiweld, going to run another thru it just to see if I can't solve the issue for now.
bry40l -> A bottle of chemiweld might solve your issue, depends where & how bad the gasket has let go. It's worth a shot for $10, even if it only reduces the issue greatly & not completely it will allow you time to save to do the top end of the motor. I can get a MLS gasket & head bolts for $214, the head bolts are a whole $14 lol. The MLS gasket is almost 3 times the price of the std gaskets, but from what I read it's the way to go, esp if I get some boost down the track lol. Cheers ToranaGuy
