Clicking on the images of the cars takes you into the users gallery with lots of pics they have posted up. One of the users car's you might be interested in is "Brayden". Cheers ToranaGuy

It no longer has factory pistons in it, i have replacement pistons to suit the 020 rebore and i have a couple of sets of F5a used pistons here without any cracks, 2 spare used sets of F8b pistons without any cracks as well. I've never heard of it happening commonly, but one or two guys have run 18psi on them & cracked them. I wish i had a tacho fit for the trip up to Albury, i'd like to have known what RPM i was doing to get 120kph in top gear out of it, lol. Cheers ToranaGuy

Also a lot of jap domestic market performance models have tacho's. I have a 3cyl tacho here, i just have to get around to fitting it. I also have a charade turbo cluster that i was thinking about fitting to the mighty boy, but it's too much work atm, so it will stay in the cupboard. Cheers ToranaGuy

Plenty more to spend up on as well, fixing up the paint job, new shocks front & rear, new brakes lines to suit new front shocks, as i have to adapt suzuki swift front struts, mighty boy items are not available new anymore. I also need to get some more turbo bits & stuff to build the wiring loom, and to engineer the car after all that. It will be a money pit for a while yet! There is a lot of room behind the seats. I had my overnight bag, 12" sub, a speaker box i made up. 5ltr containers of oil & water, a EB falcon battery & jumper leads incase i got a flat battery. I also had some tools under the drivers seat, the amp for the sub is under the passenger seat. I just need to fit better seats than the stock seats, like the Tx5 Ghia spare seats i have. Cheers ToranaGuy

Far out, it's been a week since I've updated. Have i done much in that week? Sort of. Well i have but it never seems like it's enough.......
I have upgraded the wiring for my fuel pump in the EB Ghia, car starts & runs much better on petrol now. So i need to reset the ECU & let it do a learn soon, then i can switch over to LPG & stick the ECU into tune & re-calibrate itself, as it's mega rich on LPG atm. I have started making up a bracket to attach the factory premo sound amp onto, so it will bolt under the passenger seat, but i need to finish it, which requires workbench space i currently don't have, as there is ford parts all over the bench, that need to be fit to a pair of Xr8's. I scrapped the ED Ghia shell on Friday, got just a tad over $300 for it, and there wasn't all that much there, so scrap prices are pretty good atm. But i can't get another bomb to scrap just yet, i need to get some parts fit to the car's to free up space in the shed, it's almost at the stage i can't work in there (again). So some time later this week i might get to finishing the white Xr8, fitting all the bits i have hoarded for it.... Anyway, time to finish up here, i need to check my emails & then head off to catch some Zed's.... Cheers ToranaGuy

I had the shell with only a couple of suspension arms on it, nothing else, 2 diffs, 1 front guard, one torana rear quarter, a couple of small sheets of metal & an oven in the way of steel. Then i had 6 bags of pvc coated copper wiring, was about 15kg, i had 2 cat converters, a couple of radiators, some copper lpg pipe, and about 10kg of alloy heat sinks I've been collecting. I think i did rather well at the scrap yard.
Add what i made there with what I've sold, and the parts I'm yet to sell, I made a profit on the car as well as getting the parts i wanted from it. If you have a trailer you can cart the stuff down to the scrap yard on, it's worth doing it man. I'm looking into doing another car in about 2mths time, i think i'll have enough done by then i can afford some front yard space to wreck another car, if i pick it up cheap enough, there will be some good coin to be made. Just need to work out what i want a few parts off, then get one of them lol. Cheers ToranaGuy

Are you using 4x6 trailer or proper one for cars?

{USERNAME} wrote: Are you using 4x6 trailer or proper one for cars? When i pick up car's from the auctions, a proper car trailer, which is about 14x7 or so iirc. I hire them as i don't own a car trailer. I have a 12x6 tandem that i use to take the scrap down to the scrap yard on, which damages the doors on a falcon, it's 1 inch too narrow. I also do have a 6x4 trailer as well, usually only does smaller jobs, like tip runs. I was playing with the car's for a bit today, and I've found that the red Xr8, series 2 EB doesn't have the plug under the console for the power window switches, so i shouldn't have cut up the under carpet loom from the ED Ghia. I wanted to install the power window console before it get's broken from lying around. I installed it anyway for now. Ah well, down the track I'll have to get another one form the auctions for that loom. I should see if anyone wants a good non power window console, i need to double check, but I don't think it's cracked or broken anywhere. Cheers ToranaGuy

Here's something for the older members ( or members with older car's ) to ponder. How often did you have to change your points or grease up the dizzy shaft, to lube the bakerlite (i think that's what it is) that contacts with the cam in the dizzy, to slow it's wear rate down?
The little mighty boy seems to be needing to be greased up every 1,000 kms, otherwise the bakerlite on the points wears down & they don't open. It's really bothering me, but i know it shouldn't as i should have my electric dizzy working properly after winter, and in the car, so i don't have to adjust points ever again in the boy. It will probably be a while before i manage to rack up another 1,000 kms in the boy, i don't drive it all that often. I should take it out for a buzz this w/e. Get it, it's a buzz box so take it out for a buzz... lol. Cheers ToranaGuy
