It's pretty good stuff, and affordable too. Pitty Repco don't sell it anymore.

Rebuilt the power steering pump for the white Xr8 last night. Too windy to paint again, so did the pump instead. Now that's done, just have to fit it to the Xr8, refit the pulley & belt, then fit a spare radiator that doesn't leak and it's mobile again. :-)

Pics up tonight.

Cheers

All the old seals were rock hard, no wonder the pump was leaking badly.....that's all fixed now, and cheaply too.

the eb is looking good mate. I also like the look of the work on the tx5. what sort of paint have you used for the rad support. when I get around to it I will be attempting to paint the xb. not sure if 2pac is the go or not. cheers.

2PAC is alot better then acrylic its more durable and lasts alot longer you need to add hardners into the paint and need to wear a mask as you dont want to breathe that s**t in and really need to spray it in a booth (can hire a booth i beleive) although i have heard of people doing it in there shed. Acrylic is alot more user friendly for a first timer and you can spray it in the shed just make sure you have your moisture trap set up properly and clean the gun after each use so it sprays as it should and a decent size compressor they recommend a 15cfm to spray a car you are able to hire a compressors i hired a big 18cfm petrol one have the pressure set to about 30-35 psi. Or you can use a smaller one and do a panel let it fill up then do another panel. its a fair amount of work with lots of sanding but worth the effort in the end nothing beats fresh paint and its always better knowing you did it yourself :D

sorry for the hijak torana guy ill shut up now :P

Yep I've been busy, but still don't feel like I have achieved what I set out to last year. I guess that's life, s**t always get's in your way....

Thanks for the comments guys, the front bar on the Ghia does need a respray, as does the front edge of the bonnet, lots of stone chips in them, and the paint is only a year old lol. You get that with a daily.

I'm spraying Acrylic, much easier for a non professional to get a half decent job lol. I only have a small 2.5hp 40lt compressor, so have to take it slow. I have a moisture trap & run about 30psi gun pressure. It's not a great gun that I have, I want to pick up a better gun for the paint on the panels. Rad support still needs to be sanded back & hit with another coat, but the weather isn't too friendly for that atm, too hot & the paint dries before it hit's the panel :(

Most time is taking in the prep work, rubbing it back, filling & hi filling spots, yada yada. It's good exercise rubbing back bonnets lol. I'm hoping to get access to the booth again to do the paint on the bonnet & guards. Just have to wait & see if I can do that next weekend.

XD VAN 82 - the valuable input is most welcome!

Cheers

It was a very still night the other night after I come home from work, and warm too, so I pulled out the gear & sprayed the rad support with another coat. It has come up pretty good, has a reasonable amount of shine to it off the gun, and I'll probably leave it with 2 coats on it.

I will give it a sand back to get it looking smoother and see what I think. If I'm happy enough, I will begin re-assembly of all the crap that needs to fit onto the rad support so it can run again.

Need to pickup some more paint & a new gun to do the bonnet & guards with. Might do that tomorrow.

Cheers

Picked up some more paint, thinners & a new cheapie gun for doing primers & stuff like rad supports with. Also picked up a proper spray painters panel stand. Thought it's time to move up from saw horses lol....

I found a nice gravity feed gun at the paint shop, comes with 3 nozzle sizes to allow you to spray all kinds of stuff, and pretty reasonably priced too. Might pick that up next pay day if budget allows.

First up I need to get some new bushes for the front end of the Ghia tho....

Cheers

Fit the rebuilt power steering pump to the white Xr8 today, turns out it would seem the high pressure hose is leaking a little....bugger, something else to add to the list. Also swapped in a radiator that doesn't leak, and filled it with new coolant. Much better now.

Also picked up a 4l tin of clear coat, and a socket to fix my busted ciggy socket in the eb ghia. It's driving me up the wall, so it will be fixed soon.

Cheers

Not really dude, there is way too much crap in the way of it's mounting bracket, which I believe is under the converter. I have a feeling it might be an off the shelf bracket.

I don't like the way this system is setup. There is an adapter between the throttle body & the base plate for the impco 425, then a 90deg elbow to hook it to the afm & air cleaner box. Would be much neater to piss the ford TB & impco 425 off & fit a gas research TB with the ford sensors(so it will still run on petrol). Easier to go to forced induction too lol.

Cheers
