Not really dude, there is way too much crap in the way of it's mounting bracket, which I believe is under the converter. I have a feeling it might be an off the shelf bracket.

I don't like the way this system is setup. There is an adapter between the throttle body & the base plate for the impco 425, then a 90deg elbow to hook it to the afm & air cleaner box. Would be much neater to piss the ford TB & impco 425 off & fit a gas research TB with the ford sensors(so it will still run on petrol). Easier to go to forced induction too lol.

Cheers

ah ok.. the other way which i have the brackets for sounds like the better bet.
i do have a gra carby but cant be bothered messing with it so the little 225 will have to do for a while for me

You putting a 225 on a v8? They don't go so bad with a 425 on them.

I've got a gra carby in the shed, but it's for my torana. I'd need a kit for the converter to swap the spring pressure & to mod the gas wiring a bit anyway lol...

Cheers

i'd love to put a 425 on, but lack of funds arent allowing me to.
as i had a newish 225 and converter on the eb i smashed. its the only choice till im in a better situation. just means i have to get it tuned twice.

if i was able to get the rebate i'd get the 425.. but as i cant yet. and needing it on lpg sooner than later oh well

That's understandable.... I should hurry up & get my pano on the road so I can claim what rebate is still available lol.

Have another coat on the tx5. If it wasn't so windy there would be some clear on it by now...bugger the weather.

That it is mate. Thanks for the kind words!

In other news, I now have 1 coat of clear on it, and it's shining pretty good. Might get one more on there before I put it back together.

I think the spigot bearing in the Eb Ghia has died....bugger!

Cheers

ROFL....

I picked on up from work today, how's this for insulting? It cost me less than $4! I have to pull the bloody gearbox out for less than a $4 part! ARGH! Just gotta buy a spigot/pilot bearing puller now.

In better news, the rad support is rather shiny, straight off the gun. Pretty happy with it. Hopefully I will reassemble the car sunday arvo, with the front clip in primer, and next weekend get it into the booth to do the guards properly.

I also picked up a new heater core for the Ghia today, and have the a/c repair parts waiting for next pay day. :D

Cheers

Today, the clutch died in the Eb Ghia! FFS, can't seem to keep it on the road for more than a few thousand kms at a time! I think the pressure plate went bang & died. Was a loud noise, and now almost no power being transmitted thru the clutch.

So after an expensive tow home, my mate Mat gave me a hand to get the radiator, condensor, intercooler & bits into the tx5 to get it started, moved it outta the driveway & the Ghia took it's place. Will finish the tx5 & make it driveable tomorrow night after work....

Looks like it's back to the mighty boy for a week or two for me....

Cheers

I know what you mean about PITA with cheap parts and dropping out gearboxes.
Had to drop mine out 4 times in 2 weeks to re-loktite my flywheel bolts. Finally got them to stay in there!
Shame to hear about the ghia, but more work = more reliability ( i think.... )

If only it worked out that way. This clutch kit wasn't cheap by any means, but the spigot bearing is. Turns out it wasn't the spigot, due the what has happened. I'll be changing it anyway. What isn't so cheap is the tool....

Got a quote thru work on another clutch kit, I have to purchase a new clutch & await warranty, damn they have gone up in cost!

Cheers

Got a lot more done on the Trex5 tonight. It's almost driveable again, alas in primer for the front clip lol. Will post up some pics tomorrow night...

It's together & running again. Need to test the thermo fan to make sure it comes on when it should. Need to book my mate to get it in the spray booth real soon too.

The job so far hasn't come up too shabby, but we have scratched it in a few small places. A bit of a shame, could fix that by more coats & time to harden, but it has to get back on the road asap

Cheers

Got the EB Ghia up on stands, removed the battery, gear shifter, clutch cable, dust cover, and drained the oil. Ready to drop the box out sometime this weekend & get that clutch changed.

I've picked up a new standard replacement clutch (can't afford a HD clutch atm), a 5lt bottle of dex3, gear additive, new spigot, a spigot removal tool, and am almost ready to tackle the job. Will need some more bundy & coke to get thru it I think...

Cheers
