I also played with my panel van last night, removed & cleaned the radiator out (it's been sitting a while you know!), and swapped on the 3 belt bottom pulley. Turns out I need a new long nose water pump, then I can also swap my a/c & alternator bracket on, and things will line up again....What I thought was a fairly straight forward job has become a big job, with some expense as well.

Cheers

Did a wreckers run last weekend, scored the plastic trim I required for the Tx5, now just need to paint it up, glad I still have plenty of paint left. Also picked up a set of rockers & shafts for the 4.0 SOHC engine I have sitting in the shed, I might need to rebuild it soon.

Picked up a new master cylinder from work & fit it to my panel van, along with a correct for front disc & rear drum proportioning valve. Not sure if the valve will need a rebuild yet tho. Just have to find the caliper bolts for the front brakes, and then the van has brakes all round again lol.

Also found time to help my mate with the drive shafts on his Musso, wasn't a hard job at all, as well as baby sitting a bf xr6 due to a blown diff. We gotta do something about that soon......it never ends!

Cheers

Went to bunnings tonight after work & picked up some high tensile 2inch by 1/2 inch UNC bolts, will solve my caliper bolt problem for now(Looking at the factory bolts for one caliper they are high tensile, black bolts - just like what I bought). I just need to get the calipers back on the van & pads in so it can be moved. If the pads are not in, it might very well pop the pistons out of the rebuilt calipers, not a good idea!

Got a bit of the shed cleaned up too, so hopefully tomorrow night after work I'll get that trim piece painted up, I'd love it on the car by friday....

Cheers

I sorted the paint on that trim piece, and the tx5 looks pretty good again. Just waiting on the insurance to send me some paperwork, and then it's back on the road again.

Also picked up a few little things for the Eb Ghia, a couple of plastic clips, a new fuel cap & so on. I hope to get around to the front end bushes this weekend...

Cheers

Changed the master cylinder on the Ghia on thursday night after work, nice to have good brakes again. No paperwork rocked up from shannons, so in the morning I'm going to give them a buzz, ask WTF & ask what email I can send the pics required to, so I can get this sorted....it's been too long.

In other news, helped a mate wire up the thermo fan properly in the musso, we fit it last weekend but the wiring was messy. Tonight after work that was sorted & is now neater. We also had a damaged bottle of Dex3 fluid at work, so I scored what was left, will be good to top up the panel van, so I can get it outta the shed lol.

Got a lot on this weekend, it's not looking good to do the bushes.....

Cheers

Got stuck into making up the radiator mounting brackets to fit my lovely new alloy 2 core radiator to the mighty boy this arvo. It's in, running & still needs a few tweaks like the bottom radiator hose, and I found that it seems the fan switch isn't coming on when it should, so I'm digging around for my spare, if I can't sort this by tomorrow, I shal pickup a efx510 adjustable switch from work.

That will surely fix the issue lol. Anyway, car should be cool enough to play some more now...back to the shed I go. Will put some pics up later.

Cheers

Wow, a whole page to myself, doesn't this feel awkward?

Image

Sorted the fan issue with a davies craig type adjustable fan switch, hooked to the original mighty boy loom. Works like factory now. Just need to get myself some more steel to make some nicer mounting brackets up.

Cheers

Cool. I'm fairly sure the owner is on the team mighty boy site, seen pics of it before, it's pretty cool for a "mini truck".

I got to thinking about the red ute today, how & where I'm going to cut it to make a trailer out of it. There are other things I have to get done first tho.

Cheers

that sounds like a great plan for a trailer, bit small but would look cool

It is to be towed by a "small car" lol. I was thinking it would make a nice bbq trailer.

Insurance company is happy with the repairs & it's fully insured again, down the track there are a few little things to do, but for now it's back on the road...

Sunday I managed to squeeze in some time to do the bushes on the drivers side of the Ghia. Man o man were the old bushes soft! Now I just gotta find time to do the bushes on the passenger side, probably be some time next week, got a lot going on atm.

Work started on a new back fence today, old one is down, new posts are up & concrete is setting. It get's finished tomorrow. Then I have to Archie proof the fence again. Archie is my puppy. I also need to do some routine stuff to the mighty boy before the cruise that is coming up soon.

Cheers

Wow, it's been a while.

Went on the mighty boy cruise. Popped the engine (ping of death), thought it was just a head gasket. Changed that the other day, it's still using coolant, I think the head needs to be decked again, sending it off shortly. Also done a few little things on my Eb Ghia, like swapped injectors, cleaned out the junk in the trunk  gave it an oil change.

Also have acquired a new washer pump for the Tx5, just need to fit that. Got quoted up on some new rear shocks too. Acquired a BOV for the mighty boy too.

Also bought another (yep I know lol) Eb Xr8, this one isn't accident damaged, it's missing a few xr bits (stolen from it)but has a blown head gasket, come with another engine to swap in. I'm going to put the good bits from the damaged red Xr8 on it, inc it's engine & 5spd, then get that on the road.

More than enough to keep myself busy!

Cheers

The cruise was great fun, pitty the engine popped sunday morning. What an adventure that was getting it home again. I'm going to try & get up early enough to drop the spare head in to be sorted at the cylinder head place near work tomorrow morning, and I couldn't get just a head gasket today, so might just order another VRS set for now, so I've got it quicker.

Tonight I went & picked up a 5.0L v8 from a ED, it was part of the EB Xr8 deal I just picked up. This engine might find it's way into my mates FE LTD....

Cheers
