Mate I can see one problem with your tuners, they use a dynamics dyno not a main line, therefore they adjust it so it looks like you have more power

hahahahaha well ill be sure to let my tuner know that he doctered up my dyno sheet to show more power and it wasnt cause i have $20,000 built engine that helped me make that power. yes yes they are tuning tools but hey i have ran it on 2 different dynos and both making within 5rwkw of what it made when it was tuned..

It annoys me that someone like yourself who has minimal bolt on mods and in result have only made 171rwkw can say the power im making isnt correct... its not like i have just thrown a pod filter and cut a muffler out and claimed big power. This car has spent over a year at prodyno building and test( currently still in process of ironing out little issues).

I would greatly appreciate it if people on here could realize that this isnt just somthing that was thrown together in a few weeks. If they realized the time, effort, testing, work and money spent to get it to this then they might just start to understand its all possible with the right know how..

Sounds brillant mate and looks like it really moves. I can see that you have spent heaps on it and gone through your fair share of issues. It is certainly different and thats not a bad thing. There is alway going to be people argueing over power figures. If you are happy with the car thats all that matters. Would love to see what it runs down the strip.

cheers guys. Yer it mover well considering its just a 6 and they are a heavy car haha.. yerr it shifts nicely the 6speed auto.. With the standard wheels on it will turn tyre all way thro 1&2nd haha bit different with 10" wide rears with 275 tyres haha.. the idle throws a fair few ppl off. had a few guys come up to me and ask if it was a 6 or 8 haha..

Still got a few issues to deal with. Auto still plays up and wont let us rev it past 6500rpm without going into limp home mode. Also need a bigger stall.. 3000rpm just isnt enough so im waiting on a 3500rpm stall to be made. Also be trialing a bigger set of cams in a few months :) then winter shouldnt be far away for the drags..

Loving the work so far mate ! Excellent numbers for an N/A car.

How does the car ride with the pedders coilovers? How much did they set you back if you don't mind me asking ?

I would fit the new cams then get a bigger stall as 3500 may be suited to this cam but with a bigger cam you may need 3800 or 4000? OR you never know the 3000rpm may just do - all depends on what cam and when the power comes on

coil overs ride awesome!! haha love them! suprisingly they ride smoother then just having lowered springs.. i paind 1800 for them from my local pedders store and fitted them myself..

Yerr not even sure if the standard ecu will want to idel with the bigger cams.. The ecu struggles with the cams i have now :P haha hopefully by the end of the year ill have another 'good' car and will reall be able to go all out..

tycron- my fuel econ is allright on hwy.. around town with a heavy foot it goes up sh*ts creek but with a bit of both driving its normally around 11-12.. and around 9-11 on the hwy..

Id say go with stage 4s. there is a massive jump between the 4s and 4.5s. To run 4.5s you really need to go to a higher compression engine. I have a few mates who run stage 4s and the shop i deal with have tuned a few stage 4s and most make around 200-210rwkw in the bfs.. They have on FG xr6 that has made 218rwkw.. Hes running a 3" exhaust though..

Ill ask him about his fuel econ for you..

$20,000........to build an engine that makes a similar amount of grunt to a stock internal'd 4.0 turbo with a $1,500 tune.

Now I'm all for individuality but still, I'm intrigued as to the psychology behind this build!!!

What ever floats your boat I guess!!
