Hey I had a build thread on here ages ago. Anyhow thought i would start a new one up as the car is taking some pretty serious turns for the better. Anyhow i brought my 07 Bf Xr6 n/a back in 2009. Being a p plate n/a was the only way to go. heres some pics and few words to get you up to speed.

When i brought the car
Image
Image

so first thing i did was went out and brought a redback 2.5inch exhaust and a bcm hiflow filter. Kept me happy for a while.

next were some rims, tips and pedders springs

anyhow i was happy for a while... well few month and i brought some extractors

Image

then i decided to upgrade my intake to a SS growler. One of the best mods i did

Image
Image

Anyhow losed my licence for 3 months due to some silly behaviour. So money was saved. And i visited the guys at ProDyno in Rockhampton for a custome tune. As my power figures were argued about and i see why. On there dyno (dynodynamics dyno) it went 195rwkw after tune. On a dyno in Mackay it went 190rwkw. So maybe i have freak engine who knows..

More to come....

Anyhow So i was happy for a while and some stage 2 crow cams came up forsale near home. Droped around to see the fella he had $600 on em and i walked out of there with them for $300 and there wasnt a mark on them. Then i had Tafe down in Rockhampton for 6weeks mid last year. So cams were installed and a retune. Come back with a health 207rwkw and a crap load more torque. Also upgraded to xcal3.

After finish tafe and heading home again i decided the car was low enough so back to pedders i went

Car didnt change for a few months until i started getting really bad lifter noise on start up so went around to mechainch and got i checked out.. Turns out stuck lifter.. While looking a option a head came up forsale complete with atomic valve springs and atomic cams(almost same as my crows) so i brought that for $800 and got it installled.

Anyhow due to flooding there had been a hold up.

But We have altered the exhaust some more to make it flow alittle better. Made up some intake piping to increase air speed into plenum to increase bottom end.

To come: LSD 3.7 diff gear,3500rpm stall and the kinda fellas from Tiapan motorsports are sending us down some weapon X coils to try out some engine bay bling.

Having a few porblems with the auto. And it REALLY REALLY needs a stall. But for now the 6 speed wont allow us. When the 6 speed tuning software comes out it will allow us to raise rev limiter, edit torque tags and install the stall converter.

More to come once all this water pisses off!!

So when you got the the 152rwkw was it on prodyno?

As you went from 152rwkw to 195rwkw to 207rwkw to 246.5 rwkw - the last dyno shows your 126th run lol so you have had some testing :)

If all those readings are on the same dyno that should keep the dis-believers happy :)

I like have you gone the Turbo Plenum - its been well documented that you lose low down power but gain top end - thats alot of top end gain - love it :) you have done everytthing for top end.

What does it rev to?

yer i made 152rwkw on there dyno standard.. they went 170rwkw with all bolt on mods. then 195rwkw after tune.. yerr all done on same dyno and have backed all my runs up on another and was all with in 5rwkw.. Yer it has done some runs on that dyno haha not all power runs but yerr.. hahaha

The plenum from plazaman is made to suit a n/a car.. Only thing with a plenum the air needs a run up to increase the airspeed thro plenum.. so bout 50cm intake piping will gain you power down low.. but yer alot of modds done for top end. cams dnt really work till 3200rpm.

Well 6 speed restricts us to 6500rpm but once we can change that will be raised to 7000 -7500..

hey mate very nice indeed!! I am interested in the XR 8 throttle body though. Is it from the BF XR8? does it just bolt in? How much did you source it for? I got the growler kit but always thought about the TB upgrade but the ss inductions version is only 5mm bigger and like 700 bux didnt seem worth it

Hoping you can provide some info on it so i can sort it out before i get a tune

Cheers

Phil

Hey Phil for the xr8 throttle body its not a straight bolt up.. When i got plenum made i got them to make to suit xr8 throttle body.. If you have the money search around for a ss one or another brand as i have heard they do help.. If not a growler with decent exhaust/extractors and tune should see you nice numbers.. A good tuner should get you a gain around 15 - 20rwkw

Yer dan and i traded bikes a few years back. And i jst brought this one off him few months bak.. I havnt been for a ride with them tho..
