soo. i now have a handbrake again.. woo hoo!!
today i made up a couple of brackets to mount the hand brake cable outer to the diff.. Attachment: DSC01717.JPG i then positioned the brackets so that the cable is still able to move and flex with suspension movement, and a weld here a weld there... Attachment: DSC01718.JPG a quick bit of paint, a trial fit of the cable.. Attachment: DSC01719.JPG Attachment: DSC01722.JPG

after i welded the brackets, fitted the cable, i then needed to work out how to fill the gap from the ed cable end to the ef handbrake arm..
with a bit of fiddling and a little more welding. i butcherized the ed caliper arm and made a fill in piece.. Attachment: DSC01723.JPG fitted it up and... Attachment: DSC01725.JPG Attachment: DSC01724.JPG while i was at it,, as ef dont have a bracket on the backing plate for a brake line i also fitted the brake line bracket fron the ed backing plate.. Attachment: DSC01728.JPG and after all that, the hand brake seems to be working good, and considering the rear adjusters are wound all the way in.. in very happy with the results..
