Most ppl won't want to spend that in a lump sum on a 16yo car, even if the car is worth it, and it would probably cost them twice as much or even more to build it their self.

Cheers

after a strange performance issue and a weired wistle noise from the exhaust ,
i found that my cat had collapsed and was blocking the exhaust causing all sorts or crazy issues.
i had temporarilly gutted the cat, to find the car had gained a huge amout of performance back :D .
but become extremely loud and the smell from the exhaust was unbearable

anyway today i received a 100cpi 450 series cat from venom exhaust. :D

ive just had it fitted and while its not as quiet as it was with the 200cpi cat.
it still performs as good as it should and i dont get the horrid smell of no cat.. :D

ill post a sound clip later...

suprisingly the ea t5 is still holding up,
i gave it a fresh batch of synthetic gear oil and the syncro issue seems to have temporarily dissapeared.. :?
i think the ole t5 is highly underated.. :)
400,000km and the box is still hangin in there..

im just waiting for someone to get back to me on a price for there ef box.

thanks for the comments guys, ive been looking at a few au series 2/3 fairmont ghias, a series1 au xr8 with 150.000km went for 7g at an auction today..
a bf xt with 80.000km went for $8500 ...

it seems there is not a lot of people interested in buying modified e series cars anymore..
only people that are buying e series now days are people after a cheap car..:)

Thats right.

EA-ED even the xr6 versions dont sell well.

The EF, EL are cheap, but the xr6 versions and XR8 are still plugging along ok, as long as they are in good nick.

I'd go a little further & suggest that people are after almost "free" early e series car's these days.
I think they are at the age where not many people appreciate them for being good car's anymore. Give it a few years for the numbers to thin out & I think prices will pick up for good examples, especially modified versions. But modified car's are always hit and miss with price, depends on if someone else likes your mods or not.

I know of a car yard that has a white Eb Xr8 for $4,999 and they can't sell it. It's a pretty clean car too.

For us that already have modified E series, it's probably better we hang onto them, keep them going & keep modifying them, too big of a loss to change over to something else.....

Cheers

I like it mate. Sounds crisp. This is a good indication of what mine will eventually sound like with a 3" and a cam.

The question is, can you feel any difference, or is it purely to make sure things are emissions legal?
