shav wrote: I like it mate. Sounds crisp. This is a good indication of what mine will eventually sound like with a 3" and a cam. The question is, can you feel any difference, or is it purely to make sure things are emissions legal? its hard to say, it goes heaps better than it has in the last month or so, as the old cat has been stuffed for a while , i just didnt put the symptoms together and realise untill it was real bad. im thinking the last dyno tune was done with the restricted collapsed cat? as it had alot of timing removed to stop pinging, then it was gradually starting to ping more and more untill it blew the gaskets out of the exhaust.. now its got heaps more mid range responce and doesnt ping anymore?? ive even put 95 unleaded in it today for the first time in ages and still no sign of pinging.. the only down side is, now i dont think its legal noise wise, as its a fair bit deeper and louder and around 3000rpm.. but it does have a nice burble on decelleration and light throttle.. overall im extremely happy with the quality of performance and sound... |

ya cant complain with that mate. Thats fantastic if you notice a substantial increase. Thats what its all about. The noise part well, it something that has to be sacrificed. In the end you could stick another muffler in to quieten it down. Fact of the matter is, your car is legal and has the paperwork to prove otherwise.

just thought i would post a few pics of what me and narelle have been up to the last week in our spare time.
picked up a set of series2 au xr8 tickford rims cheap to go on the mrs au.. but they had alot of scratches and moisture had got under the clear making them look like crap.. Attachment: DSC01915.JPG after a few hours sanding on each rim and a bit of polishing they are now looking much better.. a huge thanks to,svo_matts mrs, stacey and 93eb for helping with the sanding on saturday/sunday and their partners for the moral support.. and we ended up with this.. Attachment: DSC01920.JPG and fitted to the car today... Attachment: 22062010028.jpg Attachment: 22062010030.jpg

I do like au ticky wheels I have a few mates with them. Would never think a wheel with such square edges suits such a curvy car but they look sweet.

Cheers Troy.
Good to see the hard work with the wheels has paid off and Narelle is happy

the wheels suit the AU well
when it came to removing the clear, why not use paint stripper? |

cool. did you end up re-clearing them, or leave as is
is so, what type of clear is best for sticking straight onto metal? My Ghia rims have swirls in the clear coat and looks crapola |

no we havnt re cleared them, i thought about clearing them but i thought any chips and imoisture might get under the clear again..
so the worse case is they might need a polish every month or so.... |
