yea the water pump pipe gave me the s**t as i had to take the extractors off to fit it.
otherwise it isnt to bad to be honest the only thing that p****d me off was trying to do the bottom last bolt on the manifold..
i could get all of them by putting my arm under the manifold from the front but i just couldnt reach the last one.lol
so i did it from the top but i kept dropping the bloody ring spanner

i can reach the back bolts without any issues... its just getting it to line up correctly lol. you need to buy a ring spanner

it goes a s**t load better than it did with the std exhaust, intake but adding the cam has givin it the extra go i wanted..

now i want to get it dyno'd, as it now feels a bit stronger than the au engine that was in my ea wich pulled 133 rwkw..
that was with the same set up but with a different cam..
over all im quite happy with the way its running at the moment.. :) :D

today i went out to the wreckers and got a cruise control switch for the brake pedal to use on my clutch pedal..

and being operated by a vacuum/electrical switch.
i only hooked up the vacuum part of the switch so when i push the clutch in it only releases vacuum, which lets the cruise cable release the throttle but doesnt disable the cruise control like the brake/factory clutch set up does.
so as soon as i release the clutch again the vacuum pulls the cable again and i continue on my way....

Interestingly (arg, some would say otherwise as per usual) I came up with a similar idea.

Was hoping to use the cruise controls "DECEL" function as is provided on button 3 of right hand steering wheel switches. Never occured to me to try it mechanically like you are seemingly doing by removing vacuum. Interesting...

By doing it my way, the clutch will depress the "DECEL" function to the cruise control --- basically I hope to find the correct circuit and wire the clutch pedal to it using a switch similar to the brake. The cruise control will not change it's setting much, although if shifting gear a LOT (like twenty times or something, depending on speed of shift, hills, etc)

The DECEL seems to turn the cruise control off and then turn it back on when the button is released and then speeds up about two or three K's an hour as it is working off AVERAGES. As you are still slowing down when you release the button, it speeds up a little to maintain it's "average".

((At least, this is my guess without hacking in and examining the code of the controller))

Releasing the vacuum won't effect anything upstream that is running from the same line would it?! Oh hell...

No doubt you'll get it working sweet and tell us the results anyway. If you have any advice on my idea then don't be shy... I don't even own a clutch pedal yet so take your time...!

It is worthwhile to note the the cruise systems in the EA-ED are very different to the EF-EL.

The EF-EL is all electronic with no vacuum components, so you would need to find a way to trigger it all electronically.

Ahah. THANKS for that. Have mentioned I am a novice a couple of times before, right?!

No worries - will look into my "use the clutch to press the DECEL button" idea.

Almost paid off the gearbox, but the clutch and pedal box have not been found yet... Cheers BENJ.
