no we havnt re cleared them, i thought about clearing them but i thought any chips and imoisture might get under the clear again..

so the worse case is they might need a polish every month or so....

Bit like the old school Mag Wheels.

I found that I HAD to clear the polished alloy bonnet vents as virtually overnight they would start to tarnish.

I plan to clear coat my wheels.

Cheers

an update for the ed,..

i picked up a fairly fresh ef/el t5 on friday to replace tired ole ea t5.. :D
a few hours work on saturday and the box was in and running, a huge thanks to svo_matt for his help and laying under my car in the wet gravel..

i must say the combination of the ef t5 and 3.45 diff are near perfect for my liking..(ford got it right!) :)
i noticed while the ef t5 ratios are a little taller than the ea t5, the ef gears are closer together.(less gap between gears)... and now the way my car is set up it seems to use the torque to its advantage, where with the ea t5 the gears seem too short and felt like it was always past its torque curve, basically all gear change,...
if that makes sense?????????

due to the lack of interest for the price was asking, i decided to keep it for a while longer..
after fitting a new cat and different t5 its given me the excitement to want to enjoy it again...

overall im happy with the results, as its what i expected from my first time on the track..
i think i could get a better time but thats how the night went..

Well done, that puts you up in the old muscle car times, not bad for six pack ED dude, more practise and who knows? 8-)

Nice numbers Troy.
You should of let us know you were running. We were thinking of heading down and I was given the green light to have a play in the XR , but decided at the last minute to not go.
Huggiebear. Trust me the first time you run you will be deadset s**t yourself. I muffed up quite a few times. But it is very very addictive..................

im predicting confidently your car is a 13 second car minus most of the heavy fuel load/ spare/seats/sub box. good work. :)
