hello again....
the latest mod is.
i scored a el parcel tray cover..
i like the el one as it has the cool little mesh vents in each corner.. and the material completely covers the centre seat belt compared to the ed which has a plastic cover over the seat belt...

Looks good Troyman

You just need to acquire the plastic insert that goes around the centre belt.

Should be easy enough to get.

well today we casually threw the ed on the dyno at cms..
and..........

the torque peaked at 375 nm.... :)
and it pulled 125 rwkw...
not to bad for a complete stock bottom end and std head fitted with a mild crow cam....
but i think i might go for a cms cam and compare the gains....

so i might have a billet crow cam for sale soon....

Nice work Troyman, not bad power for the mods.

Also, i never knew the ED had the centre belt there, and noticed yesterday that EB ghia's had them there3 too, i wonder if this makes it easier for me too fit it to mine to complete my parcel tray? Hmmm...

Andrew.

The centre belt was fitted, along with smartlock, from September 92.

Damn, i missed out by a month. Its fitted to a nut welded in there if i'm not mistaken? It wouldn't be strong or safe enough to simply drill a hole and bolt it in with a fishplate and nut would it?

That is for the Child Seat.

The pressing for the parcel shelf is different. There is a depression where the belt reel sits in the later cars. I had a good look at this when I was setting up the Red EB.

hello again.
i was bored a few days back and decided to make a small bracket..
this bracket is my new timing mark.
as some people know!
when doing a serpentine conversion an ea to ed if you dont swap the timing case you need to re-mark the balancer to set the ignition timing.
which i had done but due to the mark on the balancer being on the outside edge of the ballancer and the timing mark on the cover being on the back edge of the balancer. its hard to get a accurate setting and the serp belt sort of covers the timing case mark making a b**ch to set the timing..
so here is the bracket! it bolts solid to the tensioner it has the tdc mark and 10 deg mark..

its nothing really special or necessary but it has helped with seting the timing accuratly.. as it was before i thought the timing was set at 7 deg btdc..
after making the bracket i found the timing is more like 12 deg btdc.. :D
